im going to be selling the g.p to get a honda, i want to sell the gp privatly then wait untill the perfect car comes along.

seems the best way is to put the reg on retention (£105/12months) the assign it to new car with in 12months, but will i have to pay the trasfer fee(£80) when i assign it to the new car?

The retention fee includes the £80 transfer fee. So there is nothing to pay when you get your new car.
