I'm trying to work out how long a path is around a cricket pitch, I've tried using Google Maps, but it doesn't work on paths...does anyone know of anyway of finding out online? I've tried searching the council website, but found nothing!

Anyone got any ideas?

Google maps has a scale indicator in the bottom left normally, this is probably the most basic way of doing it but get a bit of string and hold it against the length of the path, measure the length of string, scale it up based on the map scale and voila.

If my maths is right, it will be 440 metres.

My string (ear phone cable ) was 33cm long around it, each 20 metres was 1.5cm.

Would it be 33/1.5 = 22 x 20 = 440?

Shadeyman, its not well known, didn't know we had a team here! Just a field with a bit roped off for cricket!

Or download google earth, and then use the line/freehand path tool (y)

Google search for Gmaps pedometer, it will allow you to draw lines on the maps.

AppleSei, if your basic comprehension of numeric units is that poor, I suggest you take a maths GCSE.
