smelly coat - what to do

odd one this..

left my coat at my brothers house, and one of his flat mates was painting or doing something with pongy chemicals.

now my coat smells of them.. i dont get on with chemical smells, and now can't really wear it without getting a headache

looking at the washing instructions, i can't (well not meant to) machine wash it, but isnt dry cleaning expensive?

any other ways to rid it of this nasty chemical smell? Ive used nearly a full bockle of febreeze on it..

leave it out in a good breeze (read gale) for a day, that should do SOMETHING

but which is cheaper, dry cleaning, or a new jacket

Hang it on the washing line tomoz during the day, im sure the wind will air it out.

I do it on my coats i wear to nightclubs as i dont smoke and h8 the smell of it on my coat after a night out.

dry cleaning.. by a long way. but i dunno how much does that normally cost?

don't have a washing line.. im at uni.. could hang it out the windwo..but it'd get filthy dirty

Dry cleaning isn't too expensive, should get it done for £5-10. I agree with Serin though - a good day on a washing line is handy, always gets yukky smoke out of my going out clothes .

Quick squirt of lynx or wear it and put vapor rub under your nose so that's all you'll be able to smell.. <- poor mans alternatives
