Miller was brave, Stapp was insane. I saw a program on TV a while ago about SSC Thrust and they mentioned the tests that the military have done with sleds and they are so much faster than cars, they were going faster than SSC years ago. It makes me wonder why the land speed record is so titled, surely it should be the car speed record, unless they are saying that the sled being on a rail means it's not on land.

Good article, but my Marea can blow away the Focus and the Thrust from 0-100 :D I also had a nose bleed once in a car due to deceleration but that was caused by the tree more than the G

Yeah I did read that but wasn't 100% on it as it has never been accredited with the times quoted, & I've seen some crazy machines out there the Dauer springs to mind as it a rebuilt for the road Porker that was used to win Le Mans many many times & costs just under a mil but you get a car made from so much carbon fibre radar waves are absorbed by it so speed cameras don't record it which is cool. In this months EVO mag there is a one off Porker 911 from a German tuning company which has just beaten the long standing 240.1 record set by the Maca F1, it got to 241.1 which is just awsome!

Still impressive if it 100% reliable info!
