just been watching Pimp My Ride.. and wondering, do american cars not have to be MOT'd? Some of them are literally dropping to bits, how the hell are they allowed on the roads?!

From what i have heard, they don't do vehicle checks....

I see one pimp my ride, where the car was a cut and shut, and they just bought him a new car because the other one wouldn't of lasted long.

I think they should have a Pimp My Ride UK edition.

I'd apply and get some wreck of an MOT failure out of the paper.

your right joecinq, they don't do checks, all they have is emissions tests every 3 years, but they can easily be aquired with a little cash..Half the people who do the tests don't have the qualifications to do them either.

They don't have to have MOT's but depending on what State you live in you do have to have a "vehicle check" , that costs $10 - they check your tyres and oil. Takes a few minutes. I saw cars that were rust buckets!!!

lol..my mother in laws car only had half an exhaust, there was no spare wheel (you can imagine how bad that could be in West Virginia) and the roof lining fell down on your head every few minutes..
I refused to go in it unless it was an emergency. So i borrowed my Father in laws camaro for a month. I have to say it was like driving a donkey on speed. There was plenty of power but it just couldn't do what you wanted it to, and talk about uncomfortable. It was identical to the one in the picture, not my taste at all.

Every single copper i came across was a complete arseh*le.
The guys in customs were no better either.. Just cuz i have dreads, I had to be searched at every terminal. Standing in the middle of the Pittsburgh airport one of them asked me to undo my trousers so he could check the lining around the belt area. I asked him if he wanted me to flop it out for him while he was on his knees.. lol talk about not seeing the funny side, the uptight little turd.

Between a place called Wheeling and Wellsburg, its right on the state border of Ohio and WV... There's loads of Steel factories along the Ohio river, looks like the place from the Deer Hunter. Amazing scenery.

i LOVE american cars!!! my whole family has some conection with them my brothers first car was a Ford LTD which he made into a ploice car somehow he insured it

There's a guy lives around the road from me who owns a car like that.. Similar anyway.. hes into all the old style american stuff. His lounge if done out like and old style diner with neons and stuff all over the walls.. lol. just had a weird thought.
When my daughter was little she got shot in the head with an Arrow (with a rubber tip) from thats guys son.. Maybe he's taking the american theme a little too far
