how far is your commute and how long does it take?

I used to commute Northampton / Rugby every day - ok, only 44 mile round-trip - but after 8 years it started to grind!

Plus I was running the 2.4 at the time

Looking at a job around 60miles away, just wondering how far others travel to work

i have commuted that far
its fine for a while but you will want to move or get another job after a while
also you need a 100% reliable car or stable public transport
if using the car key in fuel and werar n tear as to whether the wage is enough

I don't work now, but my last commute was about 50 - 55 mile round trip, depending which way I chose to go.

It was all back roads and quiet villages, which was great for the first few weeks. Started to get on my tits after that though. It didn't help that part of my job involved thrashing a van around the countryside all day I suppose.

I used to be able to get to my old job in 10 mins on a good day.

Shame that once I got there it was 7+ hours of pure sh*t all day:p

i used to live 2 floors up from work so could get up 10 minutes before i need to be in :p
then there was the job i had with flat included and no bills
that was a good job :(

I bet it wasn't as sh!t as mine

Sitting at a desk all day with a headset on

Spending the whole day speaking to retards

Not allowed to talk to other colleagues

Bosses reading all your emails

Getting the best stats in the company and still getting punished because you are an easy target

Getting moved so I sat next to my boss and he can watch everything I do

Get moaned at if you arrive a minute late.

Seriously I could go on. It was worse than being at school!

EDIT: I think we've gone a bit off topic now. Sorry arc.

OK. Try....

Shovelling raw sewage in the event of a spill.

Unblocking machinery that processes "waste".

Using manual lifting gear to lift half ton pumps out of "wet wells".

Stripping down aforementioned pumps that are covered in/full of raw sh!t.

Getting covered heas to toe in raw sh!t when pipes burst (this happened 3 times).

Weighing, vac dryin, and moisture analysis of sewage samples.

Constantly having to dodge flying sh!t/**** mixtures from moving machinery.

Having to climb 40' down into wet wells.

Having to cope with the most over the top health and safety regime EVER.

Pulling dead animals out of sand filters.

Forever having to handle soiled ladies "sanitary products"

Having the world's biggest bell end for a boss.

And worst of all....

Having to drive a Citroen Berlingo van :yuck:

Watercourse sampling was ok though.
