Posts: 200 Thanks: 0 Trader Rating: 0 | engine transplant is there any particular reason why its easiest to change one engine for another engine from the same manufacture? apart from obviously all the engine parts and gearbox what else would need changing for a different engine to work in it? for instance would the fuel tank need changing? Posts: 9,865 Thanks: 116 Trader Rating: 0 ![]() | It depends what you wanna do. I did the 1242 swap as it drops straight in - same mounts, same box etc. You will almost certainly need custom mounts, different gearbox, swap ecu, maybe swap fuel pump if you're going to something MPI, plus you'll be a bit limited as whatever you want to drop in actually has to fit - so rule out a Mondeo V6 engine! Short answer - it'll cost big money. Pete. Cinq sporting 1242cc http://mysite.freeserve.com/close_to_cracking_up/ http://autos.groups.yahoo.com/group/Cinqs_and_Seis http://www.clubcento.co.uk
