not anymore they don't, go have a look at the ones painted green in the bushes on the A57 through Glossop. Right through there are markings on the kerbs so that you can't look out for markings on the road to know where the cameras are.
Static speed cameras have never had to be painted in bright colours. It's only Safety Camera Partnership cameras do. If you are on the A57 on the Manchester side of Glossop, for instance on Mottram Moor (steep hill) you are in Tameside as you also are on the A628 for a while towards Barnsley.

Tameside have some non-SCP cameras that are black, dark green or navy blue. They also have some called "Watchman" cameras that are not for enforcement but if the same cars break the limit repeatedly at that site the Council will request the Police to use a mobile camera to catch the offending motorist.

Driving down the m62 i noticed ontop on a bridge that there was three tripods with small black cameras on top i didnt see these untill i was 200m away from the bridge, and tucked round the corner was a police car. Just wondering are these speed cameras or the cameras which check your license plates?

Thanks phil

Will just be ANPR checking for uninsured drivers. If they were speed cameras do you not think the copper would of come after you?

aswell does anyone know if theres any redlight cameras in HULL as my mates stressing out about it , he went through just as it truned to red to avoid and annoying ford focus sitting on his bumper, going into him. Thanks
Phil

He will be fine. You get a few seconds after the light has turned to red before it will flash you.

there sometimes small ones mounted ontop of the cameras i believe.... but can also look like speed cameras (n)

they are traffic sensors used to "monitor" the cue of traffic and alter the timing sequences

:yeahthat:

Same with the little yellow boxes above or below tempory traffic lights. They're done to detect if a car is waiting where it's been set-up to detect (normally at the sign where it says "stop here when red light shows", if ahead or behind this sign, you could be waiting longer than need be).
