what have they done to watchdog

I preferred the old one with Ann Robinson and Charolette, save for the theme music. They've never got it right.

Anyone remember the ITV (or should that be STV?) version, "We can work it out," at all? I liked that one.

It's pretty crap. Rogue Traders was a separate half hour programme, Watchdog was half an hour. Now they're combined into a one-hour programme, but they are still separate programmes - it's just that RT is split into 3 x 10 minute bursts. Pointless and annoying - it's not like the two programmes are even talking about similar subjects.

Did Anne Robinson have a lisp before she had her face rebuilt?

See what Peter Sissons had to say about her here (he didn't know the mic was on)...

"That's not Anne Robinson is it? Jesus Christ... she's even got new tits".

yeah all recent programmes seem to spend half the time telling you what's going to happen, then go to something else, come back to tell you what's going to happen again, go back to the other, then eventually tell you

the worst ones, (up till now) is the "rescue" ones, following air ambulances etc. the content is fine it's usually quite interesting, but the editing meaning constant flicking between different things infuriates me!! (n) it just makes it seem like the first half of a programme is purely time wasting, filling space.

Drives me mad too, it's infiltrating all programmes. Hotel Inspector is the worst I've noticed, but at least it's on C5 and has adverts (so might need to tempt you to stick with them, surely the origin of doing this). But the BBC is doing the same now, I keep getting ready for ads that never happen. It seems to be more a way of padding 30 minutes out to 60.
