Im back at home this weekend, left my cinq parked outside opposite the house. Went to open it this morning, unlocked and the alarm blipped 4 times (means its been set off since i set it). Quick look round the car, and my rear wiper arm has been twisted out and smashed at the bottom. WHY THE HELL?!

I was parked between a brand new pug 607 and new beamer 5 series - and they attack the lil 1995 Cinq in the middle of them?

So along with the £400 of damage done on this road to my car, just 20m away from where this happened, i now have no rear wiper.

argh :(

i had someone snap off my rear wiper and passenger side wiper. luckily mine snapped without causing any damage.

sorry to hear about yours - if it were up to me, people like that should be shot. roll on big brother so crime is impossible.

perhaps they over estimate the security of the "exec" cars.

unlucky.. welcome back tho!
time to flush the boot?

i dont think the police would do anything at all, the car is much safer parked at uni it seems. In a car park well away from the road and entrance, where i can see it and its patrolled by secruity gaurds.

Theres a club down the road from here, and round the corner i suspect its someone come out of there and attacked the car on the way home. My brothers Punto had its wing mirror kicked off when the car was less than a month old :(

If the police would actually bothered to patrol the area at chucking out time, they'd be a lot less hassle. But i guess its cold near the seaside at 2am, so they'd rather just sit around in their cars.

Arc I do have alot of sympathy for you but at chucking out time the police are so badly stretched it's unbelivable. Millions and millions of pounds worth of policing is spent on evening policing with people too drunk to know what they are doing.

Maybe you would agree with a recent white paper (i think it was a white paper) which suggest that the bars/clubs/pubs should pay towards the cost of the trouble that their business helps to cause. I do, it would mean the police would have better control.

Then again, as you know, I am not exactly experienced with much of this and only have stories/tv/my small experience to draw upon.

I hope it's an easy fix.

If i lived up the road in Blackpool, I wouldn't be blaming the lack of patrolling - they have a hell of a job to do up there. But in St Annes, there is one club to deal with and its always full of underage drinkers drinking far more than they can take and then drunkenly stumbling home using whatever they find to prop themselves up with. I really dont think its much to ask to have couple of officers patrol up and down this street (its quite a main street) for an hour at chucking out time just to make sure no-one gets up to anything.

Outside the club, they normally park a mobile CCTV unit - but thats about it :(

I guess that's all they can spare as everybody has to go off to Blackpool to take care of everything there. The problem is at a guess that to secure any sort of conviction these days they need good evidence, hence the CCTV fan. The only problem is that van costs x policemen who could do a better job on their own but it would result in fewer convictions. They have quite a few of those units in Manchester too from what I have seen.

If a fight happens outside, and they grab anybody they can, only the CCTV footage would show who's innocent/guilty.

It's a sad world :(

I have to say I feel so sorry for you mate..
I park my car in a driveway at the back of my house...Under a car port..
I have 6ft 6" fences all round..security lights all over.. and an alarm system that goes off in and out the house, to tell me if anyone or anything is within 20ft of the car..
I used to park my VW golf GTi out the front of the house and had so many things happen to it so i invested in all this other stuff so i could sleep at night..

Happens all the time round here. B***ard students. luckily I live on a quiet cul-de-sac where the Punto is parked and the Capri lives at the bottom of our driveway.

JB: Maybe you shouldn't post on this considering you once did somethingn similar to somebody's car? Or am I very mistaken?

Same happened to my car... rear wiper broken off, passenger side wiper bent backwards... ldriver side bent, but not badly.... no damage to the surrounding areas though, £10 for new arms from a scarppy along with some other interior trim for a mates car....
