Why do the DVLA feel the need to make the V778 retention forms soo complicated!?
This for Cherished Plate retention?
It's not that hard.
Worse when doing a direct swap from two very similar cars with similar details
(Two Blue Panda's was a pain).

For a cherished plate yeah. Trying to add myself as a nominee when I don't have the signature of the grantee. (that's just part of it).

When I bought the document section 2 (to add me as a nominee) and section 1 (to assign it to my car once my name is on the paper) were both signed by the seller/grantee. Through no fault of my own (my mum thought she'd help) the document was sent off to the dvla and has now returned with the grantee's address being changed from his to mine. It now has no signatures on it and I'm no closer to sorting it out.

But I'm still not on the piece of paper anywhere - only my address - and that's in the wrong place. Where can I go from now?
Do I add my name to the nominee section and just forge the grantee's signature?

I'd do what you've suggested and forge the signature, but obviously I didn't just suggest that or anything

So I just sign as the grantee to add myself as a nominee? Then take that to the DVLA office to assign it to my car?
Its already been seen by them with the actual signature on it, is that gonna make a difference?
I wouldn't have thought so.
Just sign it over and send off and see how it comes back I would
