Were can i find???

Me and my mates are trying to find some concrete or tarmac land to hold a gathering for drags. rentable or not we just need a good spot, preferably no more than 2hrs from Swindon (wiltshire).


Any Ideas????????

There are a few old air strips... but i dont know if i can just go on them or whether i have to pay to use them.... i dont even know who owns the air strips..

Phone Swindon City Council and try and get a number.

If they are privately owned and you wave a bit of cash in the owners face i'm sure they'll be more than happy to lend you an airstrip for a few nights.

If open access and not in use, then go and use them. If someone comes up and says you can't just say sorry you didn't know, and then leave

Don't forget that using an airstrip for drag racing, whether it is disused or not, will probably require some form of licence/ permit not to mention public indemnity insurance. If you have a big accident whilst holding a drag racing event you could end up facing a massive liabilty claim...

Who are you getting to provide insurance? And if you are doing it more than 14 days every year you will probably need to obtain planning permission so that you can use the land for that use
