I see that a few scrap dealers are trying to earn a bit of cash from the cars scrapped, I asume this is legal as long as you only strip the cars for parts. But a few bargains to be had

Is such a shame to see adverts like this:

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/1994-AUDI-COU...66:2|39:1|72:1683|240:1318|301:1|293:1|294:50

THIS CAR CAN ONLY BE BROKEN FOR PARTS, A LOGBOOK CANNOT BE OBTAINED FOR THIS VEHICLE EVEN THOUGH IT IS IN EXCELLENTCONDITION IT HAS BEEN SCRAPPED UNDER THE GOVERMENT SCRAPPAGE SCHEME AND CAN THEREFORE ONLY BE BROKEN FOR PARTS, THE DVLA CANNOT AND WILL NOT ISSUE A NEW LOGBOOK SO PLEASE REMEMBER BREAK ONLY!!

See his other items : Seicento, TR7,Micra,306 etc

it is sickening.

a little bit of work and they could have got over £2k private

it reminds me of an 1987 quattro i nearly bought for £300 which was mint but had no clutch, the owner had broken down in it and had gone to a garage who said it wasnt worth fixing (when it was). i didnt buy it, its now been scrapped

considering we are supposed to be pro-environment recycling etc i hate the scrappage scheme. its a waste of good cars. when i first heard that they were doing it i thought it was more of an incentive to get less economical cars off the road and get low engined more economical on the road. i didnt know it was just to boost the car sales market

they must have a cod on though, a cod is same as cat b

What, scrappage car's

COD is only cert of chasis distruction though. CAT B hasn't got to be distructed whole.

As far as I'm aware, CAT A, distucted whole, CAT B, chasis can't go back on the road again but parts can.

These scrappage cars sold are sold and new keepers told they can't go back on road, and that the DVLA won't reissue V5C hence, stopping them from going on the road again. Hence complying by the chasis not going back on the road again?
