handy if you misfuel miles from home i suppose

An estimated 150,000 drivers misfuel each year – that's one person every 3½ minutes – generating around 7.5 million litres of contaminated fuel, or the equivalent of three Olympic-sized swimming pools.
What to do if you misfuel

If you put the wrong fuel in your tank, do not turn on the ignition or start the engine as this will circulate the contaminated fuel and increase the risk of damage.

Instead, just call us on 0870 240 3985, Monday to Friday from 8am until 8pm.

Our specialist service will:
drain, flush and replenish your vehicle's fuel system
ensure the contaminated fuel is recycled through a waste management company

– it can then be used to power kilns and furnaces

We aim to attend any vehicle, providing the Fuel Assist van has enough capacity in its tank.

Prices start at:
£184 (£160 plus VAT) for AA members
£230 (£200 plus VAT) for non-members
Effects of misfuelling

Damage to the engine can be very expensive for some vehicle owners: manufacturers often recommend change of parts (as high as £5,000+) and garages often charge £300+ for a fuel drain (AA Fuel Assist costs from £160).
How Fuel Assist works
cars, vans, lorries, motorcycles, etc are covered
fresh fuel to refill the tank is charged at pump price
an appointment system is in place
technicians arrive within an hour, on average
the AA is investing around £1.7 million in the service after a one-year trial

i saw one of the trucks for fuel assist the other day and had to google it to find out what it was
i thought it was for if you ran out

£184 (£160 plus VAT) for AA members

a tad high i see it

considering i recon i could drain diesel out of the tank myself

would be recycled into diesel heater at work

car would be towed back via rac
im sure a few drops of diesel would not hurt as long as it was well diluted

Got is advertised at work. A good price really.

Includes FULL SYSTEM FLUSH!

And 10L of fresh fuel. And disposal of incorrect fuel (not cheap if disposed of properly).

And to stop you doing it again, you get to have a Bright Yellow van saying FUEL ASSIST on the side next to your vehicle making people look, point and say 'look at that noob' :ROFLMAO:.

Could be pretty handy, might print it off and take into work, seen a few people do it at work before lol.

I've done the same thing with my mums car...felt so stupid lol

Not a bad price really. Considering what they'll do. Wouldn't it be cheaper to join then get them out if you didn't already have AA?

Wouldn't they notice something was up?

'Hey, can I get AA cover please?'

...'Before you go...can you send someone to xxx...I've put the wrong fuel in my car'.

so what if your unlucky?

unlucky in what sense?
ive just checked the T&C's and it looks like you can join the AA when broken down but they will add a 'premium'
reading through your garbled diatribe im guessing your mum (god help her) had cover but was refused?
according to the T&C's she could have paid and once she could prove she had cover then had this payment refunded in full

its done though business (slightly cheaper to do it on a fleed that one by one)

it was fully paid at the time
i take what ever chance i get to point AA faults out i think i have 5 posts about it now
