I was having problems getting to sleep before i got back up, i was wondering does anyone have nay tips for getting off to sleep quickly. Can not understand why i can't hardly had any sleep all this week as being working nights :(

Dave the only way i can go to sleep is to drink a cup of coffee before bed. If i cant sleep i get up and make a cup :)

David, imagine urself in a hot air balloon slowly drifting across the sky, imagine every detail, it works for me when im realy stressed :) Good luck anyway :)
 
i work nights and i use ear plugs, they send you into your own litle world

i used to have real trouble when i first started, i had to sleep properly the first night or it messsed up my whole week

I always find a few beers help, if i cant be arsed trying- or a shovel to the head!!
 
I try to tire myself out completely during the day so Im fit to drop by the time i get into bed.

Altho I havent managed it today, thats why im here at 3am on the computer just before I go to work....

as you all know, I'm the biggest w a n k e r on these forums so yep you're all right. A good tug works every time, after a guy has shot his load, sleep hormones are released and we generally fall asleep very quickly. This is proven when a women says to you, 'huh, do your stuff and fall asleep why don't you?'. Now you might say that your woman never says that, but remember, you've fallen asleep while she is now trying to bring herself off because you didn't! Don't lie to yourselves guys, you know it's true, so in my opinion, you're all a bunch of w a n k e r s, so **** off to sleep!

Remember, it's a medically researched fact, so next time she complains that you don't kiss and cuddle after a shag and that you just roll over and fall asleep, tell her it's your hormones, you know, the same way they use that excuse at the time of the month!

I hope this clarifies things for you and everyone sleeps soundly now. (I envisage the whole of the FF community lying on their beds and masturbating tonight)

Nights are a bugger, I've just got in myself. It's not possible to sleep during the day like you can at night, your body tells itself it's wrong.

Don't get pissed to try to help sleeping, it doesn't work at all for me - in fact makes things worse. When you get in, don't go straight to bed - I need a little 'wind down time' - like surfing here - then maybe a bite to eat. If you wake up too early and can't get back to sleep, give in and get up. You can always go back for an hour later on.

Hope some of this helps for you.

No seriously, it's best to come in, wind down for an hour or so, have a Horlicks or Hot Chocolate, then go to bed.
 
Thanks for the tips, i got to sleep in the end after coming back on here for a bit.

Pete, I know what you mean about your body not wanting to sleep during the day. With me just starting nights i am still trying to find a method that is working for me, i was coming from work and going to bed within an hour or so and having about 7 hours sleep and tha seemed to be ok. But then late last week after a night shift i only got 3 hours sleep and then i got up for the of the day and felt fine, strange cause i thought i would be dead to the world with only 3 hours sleep. Oh i always find the hardest part of night shift is the first night and getting yourself back into the routine of working when your body wants to go to sleep and vice versa for during the day.

this is wat i do. get in to bed. and i seem to start a dream my self. (i.e i start dreaming of my car or women. or my car and women ect) start a little story next thing i know before ive finished the open credits im sound a sleep dream continues and i wake uo in the morning. really wierd cos i seem to be able to remember where i left my dream the night before and continue it the next night. its like my own series going off in my head.

coffee and **** before bed is a load of ****. i eat my dinner at 9 snack up with choccy and cokes and coffee till late go for the big number 2 jump in to bed.

just think of something that makes u happy.
 
when i try to get to sleep after working nights, i always tend to sing in my head, its really annoying and doesnt really work for me

i count to 10 loads that seems to help lol

i also watch he-man and turtles on the telly, im not sure if that helps, but its just cool :p
