And for for anyone interested in buying Sony Ericsson...

SE's are shocking for reliability, like a Fiat of the 70's.

my samsung tocco isnt much better, it's been broke since i got it (calls 'drop' out) and they cant fix it and im sick of taking it back for repair so i live with it. Works fine with Blue&Me though which is confusing...

Think my contract is up for renewal in November time, and i'll think long and hard about my phone choice this time. Especially seen as i made the mistake of buying it over the iPhone.

Well my phone came back and guess what.......... It's still broke!! Well, I spoke to Voda and they've said they've replaced it as it's got a different number.

It's going back (for the third time) to be repaired.... They have said I am not entitled to a different phone but have given me a £20 credit

I have no idea what to do. I can't get a new phone, and can't really afford to buy a new one (n) ARGHHHHHH

Cancel contract / direct debit, they're not keeping up their end of the deal and supplying you with a decent level of service. They may try blaming the phone manufacture, but thats their problem not yours and they supplied the handset.

I've been a long term sony ericsson user (had about 6 different models) and have just thrown the towel in and switched to a Samsung m8800 as o2 couldnt get me a working c905. The last one was sent back 3 times and it was the REPLACEMENT handset. Both handsets had the problems described in the article but the last one dropped calls at the slightest fluctuation of reception and sent and recieved SMS as it felt like it. Previous to the c905 I had a Nokia N95 which i found problematic as well but at least it was usable (mind you my dad also got one at the same time and it was faultless - just shows there are variations within batches). Will prob never buy an SE again and to be honest after the service experience I had today from a certain o2 shop employee I will probably not be back to o2 eiter (I had the new handset basically thrown at me). Needless to say a complaint about the whole fiasco will be getting sent to telefonica. So much for modern quality control tho. Having come from an electronics and computing background it appears to me that costs have been cut so much now that its pretty much a lottery now to get a decent phone. Mind you, I also remember when SE's were made in Sweden not Asia!!!!! So far the pixon has been faultless (it is day one mind you) and I actually managed to make a phonecall today without being cut off for the first time in months! Lets Samsung make more reliable handsets than they used to (have returned 3 sammys in the past!)
