Who has applied for uni this year? If so what are you hoping to do?

I've applied for Bournemouth uni to do Radio Production, although its held at my college.

Got my interview tomorrow at 3, good thing is I've got Radio in the morning with the person taking the interview .

Will hopefully be going to uni next year but got to do access course first cos I'm old:(

I had to do one of those to get into university as I left school at 16 with only a handfull of O Levels. Universities want recent studying activity as well as the appropriate entry qualifications, so even if I'd done A levels at 18 it would have been so long ago they wouldn't have accepted them

However, the Access course really set me up well for University and if anything the 1st year was a doddle. I've now just started my 3rd year so less than 12 months until I qualify

Work hard at the Access and it will make the transition to University much easier. Good luck! :)

the Access course is well worth it because it makes the uni life so much easier, you know what to expect, workload etc.

I'm never going back to uni again after I graduate in July with my Honours :D

im graduating in July, and im going back hopefully to do a postgrad... as of yet i dunno if im gonna do a PGCE in post compulsory education (so teaching at college not schools) or if im going to do an MA in new media publishing... ive got a few months to figure it out.... problem with post grad is you get no funding :bang: so no loans... all the money has to be my own... and i have none

Because its w@nk. If i didnt need it for what i want to do no way i would be there.

Very true that man. I absolutely hated Uni, the w@nk tutors , the w@nk uni and the w@nk tw@t's on my course.
I know that you need the qualifications that Uni provides but its an absolute waste of Fcuking time. 3 years to learn what  Absolutely nothing of relevance to prepare you for the real world. (My course anyway)
The only upside to my Uni was the cheap beer, the people on the other courses (They were proper artists not wanky graphic twits thinking there bad cos they can do everything by the book all neatly :tosser:) I would love to see what the people on my course are up to know i bet they get nothing.
I spent my whole time drinking, smoking pot and taking drugs with the proper artists and just did enough work to pass without having to conform and now i have a decent job through no reason of the Uni.
Well done Tony Blair look what you have done for this country bring back the apprentiship so we can get some real skilled people and put the Great back in Britain

I learnt a lot more creativity doing things my own way. I wish i could say it was really fun but is wasnt all that TBH because i travelled and it was quite a long way so i missed quite a bit of the fun of Uni.

because i am on my second year of college (first year i done joinery, was good but didnt was good but decided i didnt want to do it full time, and the college didnt run the course) (this year im doing imi motor vechile level 2) i enjoy college but im not sure yet if im going to go on and do my level 3 r take a year out and work full time to save some money up. and i absoulety hated school, the formal ness and the lack of practical tasks. in general im just feeling uni isnt the place for me, i would only want to go for the drinking and independance of having my own dig. i also dont want to start my working life being in debt. and besides all this college is getting me where i want to be!

Graduate in July from Hons Product Design.

No idea where I go from there though:(
