Following on from Magical trevors good posting on films that freaked us out as kids. What modern day film or show scared you?

I have to say Scream, when Drew Barrymore dies at the start.

Yikes! SCARY!!

I found The Ring a wee bit disturbing...but I find that books have a more profound effect than films do generally.

Charlotte, you have to love the way the way they kill off a star "that must live" at the beginning in Scream!

I sadly don't get scared by films these days, I enjoy them but not scared really, maybe blair witch 1 but not really. I guess a few things make me jump (in the village when you first see "the things we don't talk about" from the watch tower) but that's just due to a quick change of volume etc. more than being scared I think.

Disturbing: Session 9, makes you think!

still wont watch them. dont get nightmares but i still feel distrubed by it. went to watch jason vs freddie at cinema. sudden change in sound and volume i was jumping out my seat. wat idiot made the SONY advert so bloody loud. and i am not joking either. every 1 laughed at me :(.....

texas chainsaw mas..... masie..... the texas chainsaw dude movie. i watched about 20 mins and left.

the ring wasnt that scary i found it amusing to say the least.

Horror movies just don't do it for me anymore cus I cant stop myself from going this isn't real and so how can i be scared.

Like Mase said the the original jap Ring was a good horror because it wasnt just a comedy like all the hollywood horror movies!

See dead end never went anywhere for me (oh haha :p)

I did like it but, well, i think it lacked the broad appeal of wrong turn. It was kind of like the signs (poor) against warnings IMO, both ok but warnings was more entertaining.

Charlotte, now I know why you're getting out of it!

Me too, going to see the remake and Shaun of the dead (can't wait!) just have to get somewhere to get rentals from :(

I enjoyed the japanese Ring, it had a real feel to it :). Also Blair Witch 1 and 2 (which sadly finished just as it was getting good :(). However most of the modern movies pale into comparison alongside classics such as Hellraiser and Poltergeist and so man others I cannot remember.
