this might be totally random but here it is, ive been building my own house in anglesey, to move there for retirement,

i bought the land last year. in a place called carmel, located near amlwch,

i have totally built the house by my self, with help from my 2 sons, the only thing i have not done is the brick work and the rendering.

revander is there, i havnt got any up to date pics of the outside. will have soon. it's 2 mile to the nearest pub.
but went round anglesey track and it's brilliant,

i built my bungerlow 3years ago,

Mate of mine has a caravan nearby at Brynrefall, we go fishing at Moelfre or Amlwch, stay in the van and go in the pub of an evening. I also visit Wylfa power station now and then on bizz and its handy for some lunch while I do the paperwork.

well ive had loads of trouble, plans took about 5months, then brick layer took about 2months and render took a week. and there was a caravan going straight across where i was building the house. so i had to move it, and then there was ceptic tanks under the caravan. then my grandad died and then my nanna. but i started building last year in july. and now its nearly finished, i will add some up to date pictures soon. im up here now. carpet is coming tomorrow, and im doing the flooring down stairs this week i should of finished the inside. then i have to do the outside, it's cost me around £90000 to build, the house that i have in manchester is worth £250000, but is on the market at £230000

As a fellow self builder (ours is about 90% there!) I can only congratulate you and sympathise with you!

Damn hard work, mentally and physically exhausting....But extremely satisfying too!

Respect! :slayer:

This is deffo on my agenda sometime in life. I can imagine the satisfaction is huge, and everything can be pretty much how you want it.

Good job mate

i like things nice and simple, when i move to this one, think im going to find a bigger peace of land, and build something real different, i will be spending about half a million on it to, as it will be my retirent house, it will have about 4acres of land, 3 garages, and 1acre have it has a campsite, i no someday ill do it,

pics are on tomz, finished upstairs now.
