What do you use your van for?

What do you use your van for?

I deal with a chap who has a (current) Ducato with the 2.3 engine. He carries repatriated deceased people from airports to undertakers. His vehicle is lined with some form of plastic, perhaps like might be used for meat, so it can be easily cleaned. It also has a hydraulic platform inside so he can "stack them two high", so to speak. If this is for the magazine, next time I speak to him I will ask him if he minds being featured. He covers about 130,000 mile per
year.

Seriously?! You know some interesting people...
We are doing something in the magazine about vans but it was more along the 'loads of fun' lines than 'loads of dead people'... Sounds like a fascinating job but I'm not sure how we'd photograph it!

Hey
I've been trying to find a thread on these lines and I can't find one, so sorry if it exists already!
I'm curious to know what Fiat van drivers use their vans for? Any plumbers or electricians? Or campers, surfers, climbers? Florists or thatchers?? Business or pleasure? What do you do in your van?!

Does your Dad do that really irritating hissing type thing while breathing in just
before he says: "That's going to cost you. Always tricky these kind of jobs."
Just before he hits the customer with an astronomical estimate.

On nights the most interesting people I meet are dead.

is that from the conversation?
or the driver?
Because we're on the edge of open countryside it's not uncommon to stumble across odds and ends of wildlife. There are loads of rabbits around who as you get closer look at you as if to say: "Who d'you think you're looking at? Think your 'ard eh?" Quickly followed by: "Run away, run away!!!!"

There's a particularly cunning fox. In true Baldrick tradition it's as cunning as a very cunning fox with a degree in cunning from the University of Cunning. It gets itself between some rabbits and their burrows then charges, but waits till a van or truck is coming and sometimes he gets lucky and one gets hit. He then picks up what's left and, hey presto, a hot meal. Then there is the occaisional owl, which can scare the crap out of you because even if it's standing on a fence post you don't see it until you're about 10 foot away, when it then takes off.

So owls aren't very chatty, but can still be more erudite than some of the people I meet at the Airport.

I have visions now of trying to get soil out of the back of a Marshall. I hope you clean the van out properly before transporting the gear.

"Hey man, I can't get a good clean Am7 I seem to have a snail stuck behind the 2nd fret."
