Hi,

I was wondering wots the worst thing that people do to their cars, that makes them look either chavvy or downright stupid, ill start it off, I cant stand those "Lexus" light clusters on the back of a nova, it looks beyond stupid.

Neons, graphics that look like tattoos, stuck on enormous tailpipes on 1 litre sheds in maccy d's car parks, gold alloys.

i see its thing in general you hate on cars.... well hmmm....... stickers/transfers do i really need to know you have a 'alpine' stereo

but things i hate on my car...... is poorly stonechips from coming off the track at nurburgring  soon to be rectified :D

Id have to agree with decals, I saw a polo the otherday, Enkei decal on the arch... wolfrace rims, some teenagers are a sin!

Gold alloys look nice on imprezas, bout it though.

Craig.

Shopping lists on cars that bear no relation to whats on the car, fair enough if its a show car and you are obliged to push there stuff as its on your car and you got it at knockdown to free, but putting a list of brands on your front doors when your car is nearly standard, especially if you list two wheel manfacturers neither of which match your 13in steelies is just plain sad. Also sunstrips that say 'motorsport' neon washes and pretty much anything that comes from halfords. At the other end of the scale cars I would love being mistreated for example saw someone run a trolley into the back of their jag the other day then exit the car park by bashing it over a kerb. I cringed for the car...they probably have enough money not to care tho but then again people would probably do that for my car when I pass them on the odd occasions I do visit 6k rpm...

mahoosive spoilers, wheels outside the archs and blowers on anything other than a strip car.

MOT testers aren't fans either.

It always suprises me, to why youngsters spend hundreds, if not thousands on a decent first car, then ruin it by putting boddykits and naff alloys on. Why not save the money and actually buy a sportier car, with a better engine.

this is a blower

the bit that sticks up is a type of high flow performance air intake.

Blower is a supercharger that belt at the front of the engine is what drives it, unlike a turbo that is driven by exhaust. It is a form of forced induction you can have a blower without the big chrome intake on the top that is mainly used in drag racing infact never seen it on anything other than a quarter mile car.

Another blower nowhere near as austentacious tho

the bit you are calling an intake is what the americans call a blower. a turbo is a device which uses the fumes of an exhaust in conjuction with (usually) ball bearings which spin creating presure and forcing the air into the engine at a higher speed. un like a super charger which takes its power straight from the drive shaft feeds it through a small transmission increasing the speed on the driveshaft to the wheels.
