Things you hate on cars

Things you hate on cars

on crap cars i agree with you(n) on good cars however i disagree(y)

TBH at the end of the day, the more noise a car makes, the more energy its wasting, as sound is created and uses energy! Basics of aero and thermo dynamics. And seeing as a car dosen't use fuel efficently anyways (only about 30% efficency), Id rather have a quiet car which uses that slightly bit less fuel (y)

also you don't look like a tit and can have the 'suprise' factor with some car's

the bit you are calling an intake is what the americans call a blower. a turbo is a device which uses the fumes of an exhaust in conjuction with (usually) ball bearings which spin creating presure and forcing the air into the engine at a higher speed. un like a super charger which takes its power straight from the drive shaft feeds it through a small transmission increasing the speed on the driveshaft to the wheels.

Rolf you are infact a ding. Both these cars have blowers

I know what a turbo does thank you.....

the whole unit is known as a blower, possibly but its the supercharger the blower tag refers to, the intake on the top if soo literally named would be the sucker.

edit:noticed something LOLOLOLOLOLOLOL

Er mate I'd look up superchargers on wiki...it does have direct drive from the engine but you really really really have the wrong end of the stick its like a crank driven turbo that is powered by the engine not exhaust gases hence drive belts in blower pics!

what i mean is a car should sound good an if for example a ferrari loud as well as you should show your pride.

wrong.
as you know the americans have different meanings/words for the same thing eg boot= trunk, bonnet=hood as i said the thing im on about is what THEY call a blower another name for it is an air scoop.:bang:

this is a blower

the bit that sticks up is a type of high flow performance air intake.

Because **** loads of people over here drive down the road with those poking out the bonnet dont they

Things i mostly hate on cars are ones that have Vauxhall on them, 16v badges renaultsport badges on non renaults, type R badges that arent on type R's, people that stick msport badges all over the bwm because they have Msport wheels.

MEP whats wrong with debadging your car? Most people do it because it makes the boot one nice smooth panel which generally looks better and is easier to clean :p

Oh and "Rolf" we arent in america so dont use there crap language. Everyone knows 98% of them are spoons and that they cant talk properly

It's only a sucker if your a filter. If your an engine it's a blower.

The point I was trying to make is the huge chrome bit is not necessary (hence pic of scharger without huge chrome bit) its job is to allow easier induction of air into the supercharger so it can suck it in, compress it then feed it into the engine.:)

Good god. You honestly go into every post knowing your right don't you?

Since you are obviously way more knowledgeable than other members of the forum. Then you will know all about this car yeah?

The term "blower" is commonly used to define a device placed on engines with a functional need for additional airflow using a direct mechanical link as its energy source. The term blower is used to describe different types of super chargers. A screw type super charger, Roots type super charger, and a centrifugal super charger are all types of blowers. Conversely, a turbocharger, using exhaust compression to spin its turbine, and not a direct mechanical link, is not generally regarded as a "blower" but simply a "turbo".

Also in the english Vs American language thing. Is irrelevant. In america the chrome intakes are intakes Rolfs just a moron who can't tell the difference. Hence why Blower has been getting used since before the americans were even fitting them to cars.

Edit: @ Steven: Yeah I know just playing.

dont wish to insult to insult you mate but if you believe anything on wikipedia you are a fool

Beast re read this he appears to think a supercharger is a second gear box....so I don't think he'll get it.

:ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO:.

All hail mechanical mastermind Rol!
For his next trick he will explain how when jumping out of a plane when you open the parachute you actually travel upwards!!!! It's true I watched a video and thats what happened. :ROFLMAO:

Jesus Christ man, they guy is just trying to set you straight.

You seem to be talking about turbochargers, whilst everyone else is taking about superchargers.

You do know the difference between the two right?

Turbo charger spins up using exhaust gas pressure - hence turbo lag with big turbos etc.

Supercharger is mechanically driven by the engine so that you have constant 'boost'.

A Supercharger would be refered to as a blower as it is essentially a fan blowing air into the engine. A turbo charger is recyling the exhaust gases to create pressure....

i never claimed to know more i pureply pointed out that you obviously though i meant blower in the english sence whereas i meant in the american sence.

on a different note i have seen that bentley in the flesh it is in the enterance to their factory in crewe

Which dumbass americans refer to an air scoop as a 'blower'

It's doesnt blow for a start. Air is sucked through it.

I already went there.....I also already explained the difference between a supsercharger and a turbo in previous posts...

If Rolf can circle the blower on that bentley he can have some respect back.
