Most 'private' plates these days look stupid. People buy plates that mean nothing to the rest of the world but the owners are convinced it spells their name if you squint from 100 meters away or something equally daft. Occasionally one does actually look good but it's not the norm.
If you're gonna get a private plate it should be very, very distinctive or very old i.e. no prefix/ suffix.
Cool plates:
A1 - sold for a silly amount of money.
MAG 1C - Paul Daniels' plate.
B100 PER - just funny!
etc.
Oh, and PEN 15 does not exist. That one's become something of an urban myth...
COM 1 C used to belong to Jimmy Tarbuck. Sir Gerald Nabarro (MP) had NAB 10. I think he's probably dead by now. Then there was Bob Danvers-Walker, who was the Chris Evans of his day and is probably dead by now had RAD 10. OMG everybody's dead. Most 'private' plates these days look stupid. Guy in my town has 'A12'....looks very cool as the plate is about 4" long....
He's had it years....I've seen it on a Red 3-series estate and also a Golf GTI
Saw a Black Merc on the MWay years ago with the plate.... 'AGA55Y'.... I couldn't catch it to see if was Andre or not!
