Yeah, I am not going to a Ferrari garage for fuel :D

lol

Getting very interesting. Glad that Ferrari got a penelty this time for reasing Massa too early.

Quick question, I've heard them saying about seeing the car in front gear box, why is this important?

:ROFLMAO:

Seems weird that Ferrari only got a fine in Valencia for unsafe pit lane release, but this time got a stop and go penalty :chin: Does seem like a little bit of justice has been served, and maybe the race stewards realise how much controversy was caused with previous decisions and are trying to redress the balance.

I feel sorry for Massa though as it wasn't his fault (he clearly exited the pits on a green light). However, it's cost him the race and may even have cost him the championship.

Will this championship just be a battle between Kimi and Lewis now I wonder?

In Valencia the pit crew released him early

At this race it was clear that they didnt mean to release him and it was an error

I heard the commentary say that it could have been the fault of the fueler pressing the button on the fuel pipe before it had been disconnected? So in effect it WAS the pit crew releasing him early even if it was an error on their behalf. Either way they totally screwed it up for Massa (n)

What a race eh! Makes F1 more interesting than usual! ironic the crash on one renault led alonso to victory.

good race.

re the fuel thing, the penalty wasnt for that - it was the team releasing (admittedly in error) out in front of another car.

shame (giggle) :D

Hmmmmmmmmmmm

How BIG a box is required for the Ferrari swear box ? :ROFLMAO:

I would hate to be a fly on the wall when they do the post race debrief :eek:

And the final insult, the 2 'factory' cars (Ferrari) finished behind the 2 'customer' cars (Toro Rosso) :bang:

That's going to be one L O N G flight back to Italy where a grade one chewing out will be awaiting - I wonder how many ask for outside seats :ROFLMAO:

If you are that close behind the car in front you can get a great slipstream

Uh uh, F1s dont do slipstreaming, they loose too much aero from the dirty air caused by the car in front.
Which is why next year with reduced aero (and other rule changes*) will be AWESOME :slayer:

On topic, I actually missed the race, cos its was on at 2000 Singapore, and I'm 4hrs in front of them, so I cba staying up. Good race?

*I reserve the right to judge KERS next year

I thought I've heard them saying they get in their slipstream for a bit? What are the rule changes? I've not heard anything about it.

And I thought it was an amazing race.

I'm not sure if your be able to watch it though, as it says.

They do get a bit of slipstream. The "dirty" air affects them when it comes to cornering.

Awesome race Alonso was so quick although without the first saftely car I doubt he would have finished anywhere close to where he did.

Ferrari have to dump this semi auto pit release now aswell. I think thats 3 races in a row it's hurt them where having a lollipop guy would have stopped it from happening.

Loved the ariel shots of the track aswell.

Ah, is the lollipop guy the person that stands infront of the car with a sign saying 'Brake on...Trottle off' or something like that?

Yep.. they guy who gets to hit a multi-million pound earning driver in the head with a dirty great big stick if he gets a big jumpy!

I watched the race from Belgium so didn't have to put up with the commentary by Mr Allen. Just to tidy up.. Massa didn't get a stop/go penalty - he got a drive through. That's 10 seconds shorter than the stop/go that was handed to Rosberg and Heidfield for pitting before the pit lane was open. Of course Massa was dead last by then so they could have disqualified him and it make no difference - a different penalty to when it would have affected the race (Valencia)... oh how we love the FIA!
