Well, I need a favour from a forum member if possible please? Basically I have two locks, one is a normal small combination lock and one is a D-block (this is for Manchester) My sister's bike was stolen a few weeks ago in Manc so I am going to take both (obviously the D-lock being the useful one out of the two for security!). However, I don't have a shakle lock bracket for my bike and it won't fit into the bag I use for my 12v battery :( Does anybody have one lying around I could buy cheaply please?

Regards
Paul

Go to your local pikey-ass cheapo nasty everythings-a-quid-for-three-boxfulls type shop, and buy their cheapest nastiest shackle lock. Bin the lock, use the bracket :D
Or find a bit of tubing/pipe that your lock will fit through, cut it to the right length so that the lock won't rattle along it, and ziptie it to your bike's frame (I'm trusting that you can work out my probably-rather-s***e instructions, if not I'll draw you a picture!) - viola, instant lock bracket!

And just out of curiosity, why do you carry a 12v battery around in a bag?!?!

2.2amp hour battery for my DIY made bike light set :D

Cheers for the reply Jonny, tried the local pikey ass shop today, no locks at all! Bought a cycle repair kit though, bargain! Full of stuff!

The pipe idea is possible but thought loads of people would have a few lying around...i did until a year ago when my dad through lots of my old bits "i would never use" into the bin :(

i dont, but a mate of mine might. il find out for you.

you should see the amount/size of the locks on my bike. spent over £150 on locks for it.. its going no-where!

Cheers arc, I guess I could always try a tip or something, they usually have that sort of thing lying around on bikes.

£150?! Wow! I guess your bike is worth it though.
