well was on a road trip to Bantry today, about 50 miles from home to go out on the boat when the weather turned ugly, so went to the car to change from shorts to jeans, so got them out and closed the booth and immediately remembered that the keys were in there, Disaster!!!!

Luckily we had a glimmer of hope, the back window was open, courtesy of a back seat passenger (i would have been angry on another day:D) its a 3 door car so the window only opens sideways and at its widest is only about 3 inches.
slim hope so it seemed.

We tried everthing from catching the far side door lock thing with a pole and piece of string, tried to hook the door handle but eventually managed to get the opposite rear window open, from there we managed to drop the back seat but the boot was full of crap and we couldn't see the keys, so we managed to move the debris out of the way at some golf clubs and uncovered the keys!!! now the problem was getting them out with what little room we had to move, then a miracle happened, my friend accidently dropped the head of the golf club onto the keys and it pressed the unlock button. we were in!!!

It was really funny in the end and it saved breaking a window or driving the hour back to Cork and back with the spare. So if anyone needs to break into their car me and my 8 'associates' are available :D

I've done that before .

Was putting stuff in the boot, forgot I had put them on the parcel shelf, closed the boot and then saw them. Luckly I was at my nans, so she dropped me off home, I phoned whoever it is I have for break-down cover (I dont have a spare set). Nan phoned me when they where there, by the time I got there, they had got them, because they where in the boot, it was easy to pull the leaver by the drivers seat.

what cracks me up is the fact that there's an ermergency trigger/release thing for opening the boot if you get locked in.... who the F*CK can fit in the boot of a Sei with enough room to squeeze your hand into the emergency release catch?:rolleyes::bang::ROFLMAO:

Its for those tiny people who make 'Babybel' cheese... They all drive a fleet of Seicento's in red. They pull the little tag in the boot and the car splits in half if they get trapped...

Jim

i just pictured that in my mind, and havent stopped laughing since.

This is why dont get why the boot release button idea has been ditched. On my cinq, if you close the boot, you press the button on the boot and it opens. No farting about to pull a cable by the seat or put a key in. Just seems daft to me. One of the reasons i would never smooth the boot off - things like that (and wipers) are quite useful to have!!

can you fit in the boot of your cinq with the seats up?

a loaf of bread wouldn't fit in my boot atm, but i reckon if took the sub and battery out then yeah i could.. not that i need to, like i say - there is a button on the outside that opens the boot if it is unlocked, and the only way you can lock it is by turning the key or tripping the central locking!
