basically the green tube has failed now on my bush combi
once about 4 months ago and today
both times coming back to life after being left off for 5 Min's

i just want to know cause i rather want a reason to get a new TV but

as far as stupid questions go, the "how long till it breaks?" question is right up there with "is there a god?" and "how long should my arm be on a wednesday?".

the time you have remaining depends greatly on the cause of the fault. it may last for another 100years, it may be dead before i finish this post.

Everything will break sooner or later.....jug was pointing out that how would anyone know if it would be later rather than sooner.

:idea: Why not wait til it does break...then go buy a new one,

cause i want to have a replacment ready

Then buy one and keep it in the box all shiny and new til the old one goes bang.

Tbh it is an impossible question...you could always get the old one looked at and possibly fixed, if its worth doing.

I hope it breaks soon.

well i woul but that would need another thread cause i would have time to be organised

CRT tvs can last years (like 20+) then one day pop. It's gone.

They can also go anywhere between then and the very first time you plug it in.

My Bush TV was going green after a few hours watching (the opposite of your problem). I accidentally spilt some water down the back and by the time the insurance guy came to see it it was working again. It hasn't gone green since. Gutted:bang:

by the way, your tube is fine if you only lose 1 colour it is the laser not the tube.

oh and before you ask, a laser lasts 152 years too.
