Man paid for car with coins

Man paid for car with coins

he doen't like banks supposedly.

what makes me laugh is i get impatient with old ladies paying for a loaf of bread with coins let alone a car!

Would it be wrong to charge him the 90 minutes it took to count it?

I would have, and for getting it all to the bank.......but all the free publicity it will have gained for the dealer will have offset the additional costs.

"staff spent 90 minutes counting it. But his coin hoard only covered half of the $16,000 (£8,500) price tag."

So after all that hes still 1/2 short - GTFO:p

this will spread some light -
An Ohio man with a hatred of paper money slapped down $8,000 in coins at a car dealership to buy a Chevrolet pick-up - then paid the rest by cheque.

In the US they can buy cheques like we can buy postal orders but I would guess that either the guy or his son used their bank account this time (bugger queuing behind him as he got the cheque otherwise).

If I was the dealer I wouldn't have charged him for paying in coin, remember SUVs are just not selling, even in the US.

To be honest, I'm ****ing sick of people paying for random objects with credit cards. They always forget their password/forget to put money in account/have had credit card cancelled without warning. Takes bloody ages and the queue just builds and builds.

I'm there trying to buy a pissing sandwich with the exact change, an "in-and-out" job for me, but some twot is buying a newspaper on a credit card:mad:

IIRC over here there are limits on how much coinage retailers have to accept ie. 20p in coppers. Not that I've ever turned the old biddies down when they're counting out their pennies mind! Luckily with working in a shop, my penny jar is converted to notes at work so I never have that problem :D

I hate it when people pay odd amounts into their account, like £3.86 to make their balance a round figure! even though their interest will go in the next month and make it odd again. OCD?
yeah its OCD. thankfully i have beaten the round pound bank account issue because i finally accepted that it is total stupidity.
