Fire At the Disco

the pier despite not having sprinkler system had a lot of firefighting equipment. if it was at a time when people were around it most probably would of been extinguished or controlled by the time the fire brigade got there. it had fire hydrants all the way around it as well, it's now the second time it's burnt down.

a lot of talk is about a chip pan so surely someone would of noticed. but knowing some of the people that work there....:p

just been out and seen it it. the sea is littered with bits of wood but it's all fenced off so i couldn't get souveneirs for ebay.:(

Problem is most people see a fire and just stand and watch it then run away when it gets a bit too warm.

Have seen this on several occasions very few people know how to use a fire extinguisher even fewer know which one to use. (did a workplace fire fighting course years ago)

take a factory full of production staff, maintenance guy sets fire to some Saw dust soaked in oil with a welder under a machine, out of 15 people in that factory only one person (me) made any attempt to put the fire out with the extinguishers provided the rest just stood and watched the flames....

(unless you count the Iraqi Temp who filled a bucket then spilt it all over himself trying to run back from the Toilets)

Dry riser Fire Hydrents are no good unless your the fire service

I have being told which to use with what fire
but never put a fire out just started them
unless you count barrel fires

i know you never give it air
if its in a room it might be better if you don't go in
aim at base and let rip

i missed getting to use one by minutes but wish i was there
tutor was welding his car and it started burning and another tutor helped him with a powder one

for most fires yes however something like a pool of burning oil if you do that you risk spreading the fire, Or if using Foam the power of the jet forces the foam under the surface making it ineffective hence why most newer foam units in the retail and light engineering sector are the Spray type so joe blogs has a better chance of making it work however on a "big" fire you cant get close enough to use it (then again it can be argued if its that big its no longer a DIY job and leave it for the fire service) A foam jet has a 9 meter throw for a good few seconds ....

Daz watch this from 2 mins in...
