3 phase

Currently reading:
3 phase

for a laugh phone and enquire about having one fitted i think you will need a plaster for your chin

i looked into it when i bought this house as it has a workshop style building and found it easyer to re wire and upgrade too 60 amp fuses this way i could weld and have the stereo on with out it tripping the main fuse box out

The three options are:
1, buy one of those converters which are expensive.
2, swap the motor, but this will use a lot of juice, so will be expensive to run
3, get 3 phase installed in your house, which is possible, but bloody expensive to install and monthly charges.

Best bet is to buy a 240v compressor.

A 3ph supply is way down the list........Compressors used in idustry where no doubt this has come from owing to the fact its 3ph are subject to strict legislation and numerous regulations apply to their use and mantenance. You will also find that your home insurance company will stick two fingers up at you if you start using largish pressure vessels on your property. If this one is up for 99p you can bet its receiver has been condemed as unsafe and as a result has no value.........still a bargain though......it will be worth far more as scrap.

all the guys auctions start at 99p :)

perhaps the motor for the compressor can be converted some of the drills at work were on the massive red plugs and some were converted to smaller red plugs which has one less pin. (then again is that still the same phase we have done this at college 3 times and i never listen)

or you could by a Genny if its only got occasional use
or put a diffrent motor on i think you can do that on a few rather amusingly i was chatting to ym dad today about tanks says you can get a new one for 400 quid

alot of time its cheaper too buy a brand new unit than have regular inspection ie pak testing and preasure testing

i used to work for a company that treat watter for refineries an power stations they use compressed air too opperate my job was too service the valves with seals and grease and test them using a little 240v 13a compressor and every year they bought a new compressor as the required tests where £137 and the compressor was £79
