As I write this, the much anticipated 'The Dark Knight' is having loads of press screenings and is very close to its US and UK release. From whats being posted by some major websites its going to be something special, not just the typical superhero movie, its something much, much more...then again, what do you expect from Christopher Nolan, the man behind 'Memento', 'Insomnia', 'The Prestige' and 'Batman Begins'.

Can't wait!! Already booked my IMAX tickets (y)

"The Dark Knight qualifies as the first official comic book adaptation that truly succeeds in being a great artistic achievement in its own right." IGN 5/5

"It's the best "Batman" movie ever made, hands down." MTV

"The haunting and visionary Dark Knight soars on the wings of untamed imagination. It's full of surprises you don't see coming. And just try to get it out of your dreams." Rolling Stone 3.5/4

can't wait for it... they finally got the right guy for the role...

I know. Can't wait to see Ledgers much talked about performance as The Joker too.

I watched the 6min IMAX 'Prologue' back in Dec and the 6mins of the bank raid were the best of any heist films I've seen, even inc 'Heat'. This film is going to be something special.

its brilliant

Yeah have to agree if he hadnt topped himself it wouldnt be getting the airplay it is currently, but as they all say, free publicity and all that........

ive got less excited after all the Heath Ledger crap i hear these days(n) everyone arse licking and saying he is amazing in it just because he's dead.

I have to disagree, no matter if he was dead or not, it would still have gotten quite a lot of publicity with it being a New Batman movie.

From what I've read in many reviews, they have said no matter if he was dead or alive, his performance deserves an Oscar nomination and from just seeing the 6min 'Prologue' I can see why.

Many will prob not watch it because they think its overhyped or because it has a guy who died overdosing on (prescription) drugs and played a gay cowboy  All I can say is your going to miss out on the best superhero movie of all time...

Well they're obviously going to mention him aren't they  if you'd have seen Batman Begins then you'd know who the main people are.

Anything directed by Chris Nolan is usually top notch, so I doubt it'll be "crap". If you think it'll be crap then thats fair enough, if you can't see beyond all the hype then I'd stick to films like Hancock ;)

He is a well known Director.

Memento
Insomnia
Batman Begins
The Prestige
The Dark Knight

Remember, quality, not quantity ;)

Neither of us know if it is the greatest performance ever by Ledger, but from whats been said it does sound good, Gary Oldman compared him to Dennis Hopper (Frank Booth) in Blue Velvet, thats a great compliment.
