is it worth spending more money on a pair of windscreen wipers? ie are £20 bosch ones better than ones from halfrauds? etc?

i think halfords ones are poo, only brought stuff from there that i can get on trade.

Plus they look funny

edit: although £20? tha'ts quite steep isn't it? There nothing in between?

No, they are no better than any other wiper, only difference being, they say Bosch on them and cost £60 more

how can a £20 item cost £60 MORE than another item that also costs money

Bosch ones with little spoiler look nicer (and allegedly stick to the windscreen better at speed)

one day your linkage witll break, the upgrade kit for £30 not only fixes the problem it also comes with 2 high quality wipers, may as well get that before yours brakes if you thinking of spending £20 on just wipers

I buy tesco cheap & chearful ones for a couple of quid & they work just fine.
In any case, I put new ones on twice a year - before winter - after the wipers have been melted to the screen in the hot summer sun & they've smeared a few bugs off the screen, and I replace them again in the spring after they've been frozen to the screen a few times etc etc.
Couldn't afford to do that at £20 a pop & there's no way a £20 wiper blade can survive summer & winter.

so may aswel stick to what i have? thanks guys saves me 20 quid

I bought Bosch wipers on ebay and they were £10, including post. Halfords are a rip off for wipers.

local motor factor supplies ones that are about a third the price of Halfords and last just as long, as the expensive bosch ones I bought in the past.

Bosch aero wipers incl retro fit ones are really good, last for about a year and clear the screen excellent and well worth £28

A single one cost me £8 for the Panda, and the aero design looks great!

When my linkage broke it went with the bang litterally!. wipers got caught up with each other and it snapped the plastic mounting on the arm the motor is attached too .
