Just completed a 440 mile+ round trip, 4 up with luggage, down to Croyde Bay over the Bank Hol. The GPS performed fantastically, no problems whatsoever. Average consumption was 46.8 mpg. Now this was Bank Holiday, with heavy traffic, stop start stuff, 70 mph  "where I could" and running about those country lanes between Croyde and Woolacombe / Ilfracombe. :D

27,000 miles on the clock now

Rock on the MJet GPS! (y)

46.8mpg is little consolation for spending that much time inside a GP :p

:nerner: Jealousy does not become you Juggy... :D

Biggest consolation was that I had Mrs Ffoxy, youngest daughter and her BF in the car not the Mother in Law! :p

51.2mpg from the JTD 115 going to and from london :D

would have been higher if i hadnt got stuck in traffic

thats with a boot full of cans and bottles of coke, camping gear, clothes, etc etc :p

and the skyroof open as well for a bit of the journey

52mpg from the Bravo.... until the sillyness took over again abd back down to mid-40s :D :spin:

Yeah the 16v'er is the far better engine. I'd love to know why they didn't put it in the GPS :(. It would almost make up for the crap chassis then :p

I got 43mpg in a similar journey in my dads Audi A6 1.8 Petrol!. That was just after I serviced it :).

But I wouldnt have got mine for £9,500 with 1,500 miles on the clock then tho...

And maybe I got a good chassis.... its more capable than I am in corners anyhow... :D Driven normally, its not a Hothatch remember... :p

Not particularly impressed by Diesel economy like....considering my petrol 16v manages at least 45 on a similar sort of run with 47 being the max I've had although I'll admit my week to week economy is more like 40mpg but I do like to visit the redline....

Pppppffffttttt I got 60mpg out of mine when one petrol crisis or another was on, driving like a grandma everywhere! Usually about 40 in winter and 45 in summer though, better than I get out my tractor (y)

But does your 47mpg car have 150bhp/280Nm available if you need it? If I had a similar performance petrol I'd be looking around 20mpg. Pretty good then to be getting 50+

Er no....150bhp is not 20mpg territory unless the engine is a poorly tuned piece of junk I suppose if you were ragging a clio 172 or civic type r round a track you could get them down there, but in an everyday use you can expect 30mpg from them and my mates clio 172 manages high 30s on motorway runs and as the name suggests it's pushing more than 150bhp.

Agree, my last car had in original trim 170bhp (2.5 lt cavalier v6), 195 bhp after spending £1K on 3lt omega inlet cams and an exchange ECU, at leaglish speeds, it did about 37mpg, 34 if the air con was on, 20mpg is big engine territory........
