been there once and bought wigan pier vol33 got totally drunk and crashed in a bin behind a clothes shop .

not something id ever recommend- crashing in bins when drunk. crashing into bins is acceptable, but having a drunken power nap in one isnt really

Wigan casino and wigan pier music are two different things.
Casino stuff is soul, pier stuff is dancy.

Wimmy it was George Orwell who wrote the "Road to Wigan Pier", hence the name as far as i know.

Dave, the pier was used to load and unload the barges that brought cotton and coal for the nearby Trencherfield mill (as used on BBC's clocking off)

Can i have a gold star for that bit of history info
