I hate motor-tw*ts (no offence to anyone who rides one here)

i followed 3 home from town today.

1st one was driving.....riding in the middle of the road and kept zooming round cars then slowing down, until eventually he realised i wouldn't go away so he jus went off like a looooon.

2nd one was a scooter, who thought he was really fast and kept looking round at me, so i saw him off and made him look stupid (like when people in good cars overtake me:I)

And the 3rd was a complete w**ker!!!
Riding along at 40mph is not unreasonable at all, so i just followed the guy at a safe distance until i reached the pond straight where u can overtake anything.
i dropped to 4th jus to slip past coz he wasn't going that fast, and half way past he speeds up! so i had to drop another cog (to 3rd) and speed up to around 105 (did not reach 105 in 3rd clearly) at the end of the overtake just to get past him!!!! WHY DID HE DO THAT????[:(!]
Later on when i was in a village in a jam at crossroads, the same fool came up my INSIDE! and smacked my wing mirror, after which he recieved lots of imaginetive abuse from me out the window and was pursued all the way home by an angry cinqi! (i.e. i felt like driving over him which i communicated to him by riding on his (very bald[xx(]) rear tyre! not sensible i know but some people just irritate me! Especially if they seem to have lost the best part of their car and are happy to get from A to B on a piece of crap between their legs (no remarks about the fact i drive a cinq please!:D)

Anyways i havn't done one of these big topics for a while so i'll take this oppertunity to say "Hi everyone! and how are you all??"

Also rant over![8D]

The twits that annoy me are the ones who think blinding other road users with headlamps in broad daylight is an acceptable alternative to wearing bright coloured clothing for visibility.

Me too, sidelight maybe, but you see so many with mainbeams on/badly adjusted dipped and it's stupid.

I know it's unfair to pick on motorcyclists only but so many do stuff to endanger themselves and sometimes force you to do things to prevent hurting them you shouldn't have to do... I guess it's just easier to be stupid on a bike than it is in a car.

We've just seen one on the way back from banbury today on the motorway, he deserved to be knocked off his bike. He was travelling down the middle of lanes two and three (ok middle and fast :p) then cos we had all stopped he decided to weave behind one car in the fast lane and then weave straight infront of him again and cos the car had started to move the bike clipped the front of the car, he then stopped his bike infront of the car and started giving the driver abuse [xx(]

the thing is nearly all new bikes now are built so that the headlights stay on all the time.... kinda saftey precaution i guess, does make it quite annoying but i think it is just the height of our cars that makes it seem like full beam.

i actually love morotcycles an my old man ride a very very nice bmw 1100gsr

however i kno wat u all mean about some p***ks who ride them because they think they look more manly, as with anythin like that, it is a minority who cant ride for s**t who bring them all down!

There are some dicks out there on bikes but hey, the reason they ride with headlamps on during the day is because of some tw*ats in cars that cant see them otherwise! Its true, I ride and drive and can see both arguments. Trouble is there is so little space left on the roads now, everyone seems to be irritated by everyone else:(

i love road rage, i wish i was in ur car mate he wouldnt have had a chance. apart from his bike being trashed and his keys launched somewhere up the road, he would have wished he hadnt left the house that morning[}:)][}:)][}:)][}:)][}:)] now im worked up just reading these posts... theres an old guy near me at work who rides a chicken chaser and thinks hes within his rights to not only ride his bike on the pavement but to ride down a 1 way street....the wrong way...gggrrrr im gonna hunt him down at dinner

On Monday I had a motorbike (something pretty quick I reckon, not superbike, but probably more powerful than my Punto!) pass the car behind me on a slower bit of cross-country road (some of it not wide enough for 2 cars to pass). Well, when we get out to the wider bit (ie only just enough room for 2 cars to pass), I floor it. Not crazily fast, average like 50mph (quite legal), and there's lots of bends. When I looked in my mirror it looked like he's hanging on for dear life in the middle of the road round bends. I'm sitting there calm and serine as if it's a nice Sunday drive... Stereo on, sunroof open etc... We get to the A25, which is a 30mph limit at this point. I do more or less 30mph since it's built up. He stays behind me, sometimes pretty close. I don't have a problem since his light isn't blinding me. A few opportunitis to pass and he doesn't, so I assume that he's possibly a safer rider than all those idiots???

Get near the end of the 30mph limit (which IMHO goes on for longer than it should), and zoom past he goes, close to my door etc, and accelerates off up the national limit road infront. Why did he pass me just before a 30 to 60 change? Why not earlier if he was happy to speed? If not, why not wait all of 5 seconds to pass me?

Anyway, a bit further along near the top of a big hill was a Golf that had been in an accident. Looked like a 30% offset collision. I wondered if the bike was caning it past someone round a bend and came a cropper? Don't think that happened as Police were already there, and he'd probably turned off...

I'm with everyone about the lights. I think I have quite sensitive eyes, and wear sunglasses a lot of the time (I do a lot of driving into the sun). But some of these new bikes lights are so powerful they are blinding! And being at drivers eye height means they aren't dipped for us. I'm all for having daytime running lights, but they don't need to be powerful. Blinding other drivers is not the safest way to ride!

HELLO EVERYONE!

AS A MOTORBICYCLISTS AS WE ARE NOW KNOWN, I HAVE TO SAY THIS!

GO AND TAKE YOUR BIKE TEST, IT'LL MAKE YOU A BETTER CAR DRIVER TOO, ANYONE WHO DISPUTES THIS SHOULD TRY IT.

CAR DRIVERS ARE PRICKS, TOTALLY OBLIVIOUS TO BIKERS WHO ARE A MILLION TIMES MORE AWARE OF THEIR SURROUNDINGS. CAR DRIVERS NEVER INDICATE, THEY REALLY BUG ME. BIKERS ALWAYS INDICATE AND CANCEL THEIR INDICATORS, IT'S MORE THAN THEIR LIFE IS WORTH NOT TO. WE ALSO USE OUR MIRRORS AND LOOK OVER OUR SHOULDERS TO SEE WHAT IS AROUND US. ONCE YOU'VE DONE YOUR BIKE TEST, YOU'LL BE MORE AWARE AS A CAR DRIVER AND HAVE MORE RESPECT FOR OTHER ROAD USERS.

GET THIS, AS I BIKER, EVERY OTHER BIKER I PASS AKNOWLEDGES YOU, IT'S A MARK OF RESPECT, DO CAR DRIVERS DO THIS? IF I BREAK DOWN ON MY BIKE, I GUARANTEE THE NEXT PASSING BIKER WILL STOP TO ASSIST ME, IF YOUR CAR BREAKS DOWN A HUNDRED OTHER CARS WOULD DRIVE STRAIGHT PAST YOU, WHEN YOU DID GET ASSISTANCE IT WOULD BE IN THE FORM OF THE AA PICK UP TRUCK.

I COULD GO ON FOREVER ABOUT THIS SUBJECT, BUT I WON'T, I WILL MAKE ONE POINT THOUGH, I CAN GO ON MOTORWAYS AND COUNTRY ROADS, RIDE AT SPEEDS OF UP TO 160MPH AND BE SAFE, AS SOON AS I GET INTO URBAN AREAS, THE DANGER INCREASES BY A MILLION PERCENT, THE BIGGEST HAZARD BEING THE MOTORIST, THIS IS A FACT, MORE BIKERS ARE KILLED DOING 30MPH IN TOWNS AND CITIES THAN ARE DOING HIGH SPEED ON OTHER ROADS, SO IT IS YOU, THE MOTORIST WHO IS A PAIN IN THE ARSE! [:(!]

Twin, i was brought up with both parents riding motorcycles and i know all about the camaraderie within this group of people. Kev also rides motorbikes so i am well aware of being vigilant of cyclists in all conditions, but for me to generalise and say all car drivers are like me is complete nonsense, there are t*ssers who drive cars just like there are t*ssers who ride bikes.

The biker I saw WAS a t*sser, he DID weave inbetween cars on the motorway and he DID pull in straight infront of a car, NO checking of mirrors, NO looking over his shoulder, he had COMPLETE disregard for the other road users and tbh i think he was just abusing the driver cos he KNEW he was in the wrong and WANTED to pull the aggrieved cyclist routine.

Lets just agree that yourself and others are good bikers and myself and others are good drivers but at the end of the day there will ALWAYS be t*ssers on both sides :)

I CAN GO ON MOTORWAYS AND COUNTRY ROADS, RIDE AT SPEEDS OF UP TO 160MPH AND BE SAFE

any speed could be deemed as un-safe...its the respect and quality of the rider that determines that.

if your a biker mate answer me this, have you seen that advert 'now you see him..now you dont..now you do' well, why do bikers feel the need to ride so close to your back bumper? at the end of the day, if a biker goes into the back of you doing like 30-40-50mph its gonna hurt them and the poor multi-coloured bike more than the car driver.

its just something i've often wondered, is it a macho thing??
coz you have a powerfull bike and you can pass me a lot more quickly.

like i said, just something that has jogged my mind....;)

I agree Dawn, entirely, but before people critisize bikers, they should try being one for a day. (even if it does mean dressing like a Power Ranger) no seriously it would open their eyes.

I hold a full car licence, with a PCV, HGV and full motorcycle entitlement on it, so I consider myself an all round good driver, and being a biker, busman and truckie makes you VERY aware of how many people just shouldn't be on the roads! :D

I can drive/ride like a maniac at speeds that are eye popping but I always do it safely, it's the others that worry me! [:0]
