Fiat and Microsoft to join forces

IF the modern car didnt have enough issues, now it will gain the BSOD B)

Quote Quote:
Fiat Auto and Microsoft’s Automotive Business Unit join forces for a long-term strategic automotive partnership developing innovative telematics solutions for motorists. Fiat Auto and Microsoft’s novel approach of designing in-vehicle telematics systems combines Fiat Auto’s experience and research in telematics services as well as Microsoft’s expertise in providing standard platforms, services, and applications.

The two companies intend to develop easy-to-use telematics systems for Fiat and its Lancia and Alfa Romeo models through this alliance. The new system, expected to be launched by next year, would enable motorists to communicate with the outside world, Microsoft said in a statement released today. According to media reports, the new partnership with Fiat Auto is Microsoft's first direct deal with an automotive manufacturing company for its automotive business unit.

yep as of about 6 months ago. I think adding more and more and faster more powerfull computers is a big no no. The Dealers will love it cause small local garages wont be able to do much anymore [V] you'll be forced to take it to a dealer |)

Windows Experianced a Fatal Exception in E434239FF and will now shutdown and retart your engine imagine that on the motorway [^].

MS Auto http://www.microsoft.com/automotive/default.aspx

maybe they will introduce the XP features like System Restore and Driver Rollback ;) and to get quirky features ( notice I didnt say faults ) fixed you would just have to drive by the dealers and WiFi connections would diagnose and update the fault....

This is a mistake. Anyone that uses MS products knows how unreliable they are. [V]
