A Police car drove past me on the way to Tesco earlier and only one of its headlights was working.

Surely the shouldn't be allowed on the road like that?

come over here and see the amount of people with only one headlight working!!! it's so annoying!!!oh and don't forget miss-aligned lights!!!! I was on the dual carraigeway last night..and a car joined from a slip road ahead of me. He had no rear lights at all..the only light was coming from the reflection on his number plate!! And he was in some rush..didn't hang around for long!:tosser:

They check all the lights and tyres daily so it could have just blown and for all you know he could have been on his way to a serious incident that far outweighs the fact one of the bulbs was blown. BTW they can also break speed limits, jump red lights, park on yellow lines and violate numerous other laws that the normal everyday motorist would otherwise get done for and if them doing it makes this country a safer place to be does it really matter?

my cousin works in a police car repair garage and i had this argument with her a while ago.

they must do a visual check of all the lights and if any are blown have to be reported in a book that they must fill in at the beginning of every shift. she told me that some dont do it so if you rang the police station the police car came from and report it and if it wasnt recorded the officer that is in charge of that car can get in some bother!

they have to get the bulb replaced after so long just like we do but we do it ourselves, the police take it 25miles away to the garage that my cousin works at to have the bulb replaced by them in about 5mins to drive all the way back.

talk about wasting police time!

seen that before, had a police car behind me at the lights with only one working headlight. it's not like you can tell them about it either as they'll get stroppy and start looking for things to do you for.
you can tell them; "excuse me mate i thought you might like to know that you have a headlight out"- same way you'd tell any other person. dont be afraid of talking to the cops.
