My golf likes to play a mean trick, obviously now all these gauges are digital and software drives them the light comes on when you have 40 miles range left, the gauge does not seem to directly represent an amount of fuel, then as you continue to drive another 5 - 10 miles the remaining range changes accordingly but the gauge goes down the red portion of the gauge rapidly so by the time you have 20 miles left its showing empty scaring you into filling up.
Mines nowhere near that clever, if anything it's like no one told it that it has a 12 gallon rather than 10 gallon tank.
It's sitting outside at the moment showing 310 miles since last fill up and quarter of a tank on the gauge. Which at the 42 mpg shown on the trip computer makes sense if it was a 10 gallon tank. 420 mile range, but given it's a 12 it should have a 504 and show just between half and quarter.
Citroen is amusing mainly because it has rising panic as the fuel level drops. Changing the message, the colour of the message, the warning chime, how often that chime goes off and eventually starts flashing the fuel light red when it is normally solid Amber.
