Whys that

Previous owner had personal plate. I've got new keepers slip on it's original plate. MOT was done on private plate on 29th July. Online system says no MOT. Basically the DVLA didn't swap the MOT from the personal plate back to the original plate :bang:. I can't tax it online, or 3 separate post offices I tried :(.

3 hours on hold and finally spoke to someone at the DVSA who's sending the request to the DVLA via e-mail . In the meantime I'm driving round untaxed  Far from ideal!

I'm just tempted to pay £40 and have it tested again :bang:

Constantly being teased for driving a Fiat: the downside of living in a country that seems to mainly consist of retarded, dull, mindless ford buyers.:banghead:

I've had it all my driving life bud you'll get used to not caring. I used to get so much hassle from people when I was 17 (back in 1997) for buying a mk1 panda as a first car..... Worse still it were from people who drove mk2 fiestas as well - a car that rusted worse than a fiat in a salt bed and used an engine made of pig iron. Trouble is, people listen to their dads too much and still think fiats rust and brake down (although my trusty old panda never did )

First day back at school so everyone has been driving like d****.
1. people carrier pulled out in front of a motorbike outside school then had the gaul to mouth off at the biker before parking on double yellows...
2. Audi and Subaru racing on the A50 with Subaru about an inch behind the Audi at well over 80
3. Getting cut up on a roundabout by someone on purpose because they couldn't wait in the right lane
4. To top it all I came round a bend to find an moron over taking and meeting me head-on. Luckily I was going slow but he hit the brakes so hard he locked up and nearly span. How we all made it out of that I'll never know.

I know points 2 and 3 aren't that bad but in context of the rest of the day it wound me up!

Rant over. and relax....

What do you have against Ford?

My Focus is not dull. It's a handsome car that easily cruises at speed (70 - of course - maybe 71 at a push ;)). And it goes round corners beautifully.

Sure, my Punto was a laugh, but the Focus brings a satisfied smile to my face.

There are much worse cars out there
(Astra - built wonky, terrible gearbag on the 2.0TDI)
(Toyota - one of the small ones - 3cyl engine sounds like a fart, comfy seat...which is good, because you're going to be sat in it for a long time slow as...)
(Peugeot 207 - had potential - economical, reasonably roomy and comfy, gadgets. Let down by god awful interior, 1.2 petrol that sounds like an old tractor)

For me, fords are the epitome of overrated. By far the worst is the fiesta: I'm sure a big part of the reason the press rave on about the looks are because the previous models were so goddamn bland!! I went in a mates mk2 focus this year, and I was shocked by how cheap and nasty the interior was.
