Being stuck behind various mid 00s diesels...

Back when I had my punto it had an electric fault that caused the rear lights to go mental..I was stopped by the police and told to report to the nearest police station with a fresh mot within 14 days.

Now the mot has a diesel smoke test so how are there so many out there that put out so much in the way of particulates the entire rear of the car is covered in coal dust, running round apparently unchallenged?

The shape of our mini seems to mean that you can clean it one day two days later the back of the car is black while the rest looks still clean and polished.

Having followed a mini in the rain the other day in the rain it had a huge rooster tail off both back tires so I'm now not surprised it always has a dirty arse, my old Saab used to be the same.

This may be the case but I doubt the mini looks like this when you put your foot down...not the actual car it was a BMW 330d...then a multipla...then an A3...however the effect was similar.

Perhaps, although I suspect the multipla was just plain knackered. Either way it's a car running round in a condition that would not pass an MOT..

I'm aware of the whole "no smoke no poke" phenemon and yes people have been decating cars for as long as cars had cats..but there's a point where modding stops and anti-social behaviour begins.

MOT has been moved to monday because the computer program isn't working :(

This new system has been doing this since it started apparently it was on the news. The other day a mate logged a car on in the morning and it wouldn't let him log it off till 5, meaning he couldn't log any others on and lost a days work.

Plus side new system doesn't need its own computer any more and can be accessed from any where and can show testers pass rate if you ask him and he wants to show it to you.

Its all so every thing looks the same, it now looks same as the site you use to tax your car on-line.

Seems a few garages are giving this reason but as with the old system, there is a back up. The back up with the new system is to hand write them and log them onto the system when they can.
