What's made you grumpy today?

What's made you grumpy today?

How many pages?

No page numbers, however it's gotta be 500 pages if it's a page. I have learned 3 useful car related things from it in my 5 attempts at reading it. 1st I should only switch on the automatic wipers when it is raining (not got to the lighting section yet but can safely assume it'll tell me only to activate the automatic lights at night). 2nd The washer bottle has a dipstick, 3rd I know how to pair the bluetooth.

There is an entire section on the differences between and FM radio and types of radio interference...which would be good in a text book but is of little practical use.

Even better how about giving the car a light switch and wiper switch, and get rid of most of this modern electrical nightmare . .

Why can they give you a CD / USB stick? They cost next to nothing!

Then you can print the pages you want to keep in the car.

Thing is and I wish I was making this up but Mazda service histories are paperless, so if I want to see my service history I have to go on Mazdas website or demand a print out from the dealer. So they can't even say it's for technological reasons because they expect you to have a pc to look at your service history. Also if i get it serviced at a none franchise dealer obviously database doesn't get updated. Joy apparently Toyota does this now too sure MEP could confirm.

I have both of those things..they just have an extra setting marked auto.

One of my duties at work is what's known as Human Remains, or "Hum Rems." This is connected with the death abroad of anybody who is returning to the country to be interred. It's essentially a paperwork task for the Coroner.

Today I had to deal with the late Gary Firth from Barnsley. This gentleman had a motorcycle crash on the Isle of Man and was 51 at the time of his death. He was actually taking part in the Manx Senior GP at the time and crashed during the race.

It occurred to me after the headlines of Rooney and others earning up to £300,000 a week, and the trials and tribulations of Hamilton and Rosberg and their motorhomes that cost more than Gary would have earned in a year. He was a self-employed plumber who would (as would most of his ilk) have spent his own money on his bike and travelling expenses. He would have worked on it at night or at the weekend in his garage just for whatever he got out out of riding the TT course. Personally, I wouldn't like to go round it in the Panda.

People like Gary are, whether we are talking cars or bikes, the grass roots of motor sport. They are the ones who keep it going and turn up at Croft or Darley Moor when it's cold and raining. They're the ones who have their wives and girlfriends in a caravan keeping up a steady supply of tea, coffee and bacon sandwhiches. They are the lifeblood; the grass roots of our sport.

God bless you Gary. I didn't know you, but for what you and countless others do every weekend at Snetterton, Croft, Cadwell Park, Oulton Park and Anglesey, thank you.

R.I.P. Gary and when you get to heaven, keep it pinned and keep it shiny side up.

You're supposed to display them until they expire ;-)
I'm stuck with mine until February

(Let's face it, how many coppers are gonna look past the fact they don't get issued now?)

"Do I need to keep my old tax disc?

From 1st October 2014, you have the option of removing the tax disc from your windscreen or you can carry on displaying it."

More to the fact that if you buy a vehicle the tax gets refunded back to the previous owner, new owner gets 1months grace :O
So am I believing that every single car sold will have no tax????
So adds with say "6months tax and 12mot" will disappear???

So from what I gather this means after oct EVERY single car sold will have 1months tax! :0
Dealers are gonna love this they'll never have to tax a car again!

I must have mis-read it lol

I'm reluctant to remove mine...more because of what the tax disc holder says :D
"YES I'VE PAID MY TAX...NOW GO FILL SOME F***KING POTHOLES!"
(Yes, I know it's VED and isn't used for carriageway maintenance - but I don't care lol)

this will make it cheaper to buy another one of some cars every month than taxing the one you have :p

Edit hold on, is it saying you only get this tax free month if you buy from a dealer? so its going to be harder to sell your car private :(

Just the tax related bits.

NO NO. They're sold with NO tax. You'll have to tax it, you get no tax with it. Not even a months grace.
