Bloody ipods, itunes and iFat adapters
After a bit of arsing about I fitted the genuine ipod adapter from fiat into the 100hp.
"this accessorie will not charge the unit" displayed proudly across the screen.
The head unit will only allow you to select tracks from one album, then it randomly renumbers the said tracks.
If you plug in the ipod with preselected track playing it plays through the stereo until you turn on the ignition then it plays whatever it feels like.
What a complete and utter waste of money - it will be returned to the supplier for a refund.
Second grump - connected the ipod to the new computer, downloaded itunes, it can't find my account, any of my music and procedes to wipe all the music off my ipod.
What a load of bastard rubbish.
I'm buying a new head unit into which I will plug in USB's full of MP3's and **** apple corp and all its witchcraft up the ****ing arse.
To be fair the latter is only because you've synced the iPod to another iTunes account and then setup a new one. Can only be synced with he account, and rightly so to prevent music theft and enable the syncing to function properly when used properly.
You can go into option in iTunes and select manage music manually rather than sync all music, you can then manually select / drag music you want on the iPod and won't loose all of the music if you plug it into another iTunes account, providing you don't try and sync it with that account
I never asked it to sync my ipod though it just did it and wiped all my music rendering my ipod useless
It would have asked you at some point, unless you've previously defaulted it to yes?
And it doesn't render the iPod useless, just resync it or reload it from your music library
I don't know, all I know that itunes is needlessly complicated and I much prefer using usb sticks synced to winamp instead.
itunes has been deleted from my pc and won't be back, the ipod will be going on ebay the next free listing weekend, the adapter will be sent back too.
I'm looking forward to having an apple product free home/car.
Got asked at work what car I drove, replied "an Alfa Romeo Giulietta", to the reply of "ain't that a posh Vauxhall Astra"...
It's a shame the only response I could think of at the time was "more like a posh Fiat Bravo..."
An yes I know it's not a bravo...
