was driving along my road a long straight 60mph road with no street lights when i hear bang i stopped and see my mirror is hanging off, couldnt see what had hit it so i turned around so head lights lit up road and see some one in a long dark brown coat with a hood no light clothing or noting, i get out to check they are ok she is holding her arm but she reckoned she was ok. find out its a very old lady she tells me she is walking home, i quizzed her some more asked where do you live then i'll take you home before you get run over more seriously, she didn't know her address she then said she was actually going to her sons house, i ask where does he live? she says don't know.
Then she said she was in hospital and they said she could go home, so i say get in the car and i'll take you back to hospital, she says no i dont want to go back there, so i say ok what is your name she remembers her name, i say we can go to hospital and i'll ask them where you live and take you home, she agrees to get into the car.
First i try mental health unit as she cant remember any thing they say "no we haven't lost anyone take her to the police station", i say no i'll try main hospital first as her arm needs checking out, so i drive over to main part, a mental health nurse man who just finished work came too, he went in and asked if they lost anyone he then comes back tells me to check her wrist for hospital wrist band, found that, got her hospital number and yep she was supposed to be in a ward of main building, by this time she has also remembered her door number and road, turns out she lives in clacton on sea that's 20 miles away, she said when she started walking it was light. turns out she is 75 years old, so much for duty of care they didn't even notice she had gone
i'm glad she is safe and ok but now i need new mirror:bang:
