Why not get a new one from a dealer?
:yeahthat:
This is a good example of a consumable part that's probably best not bought from a scrap car.

If it's for a 500, Research FIAT at Nuneaton will sell you the latest OEM breather via ebay for a fair price.

Service is excellent - I've bought one of these from them (y)

Well where do I start?

So I've done my 2nd oil change after 500 miles, me expecting it to be a walk in the park...wasn't I wrong!

Tried to remove filter by hand , that thing wasn't budging for nothing, I put all my strength into and took loads of skin off my hands :(

So what did I do? I don't have the filter removal tool, so I stabbed the bastard :D hammer and strong flat head screwdriver to get leverage to undo filter! It worked :) after that it was all good!

Then, I was driving and receiving a phone call and im not one to drive and answer phone so I put my hazards on 5 secs before pulling over safely, this twit behind me did the same eventually pulls out and moans at me....erm if you were paying attention to my damn car you'd know I wasn't intending on going anywhere!!!! My hazarda were on....which either means broken down or to warn other drivers of my presences while im at a standstill :banghead:

Meh I don't know about today it's been horrible

i fecking hate people who do that. if you want to pull over you indicate to pull over so people know what you are doing. If you felt the need to put hazards on then it probably wasn't a safe place to pull over anyway

It was a safe place to park, I've always used hazards. Hes probably first person in 2 an half years of pissing driving to moan about it....special much? Yep!

benny279 for all he knew you could have broken down and been calling for help?
not sure why he would have stopped behind you? clearly one of those drivers who never looks beyond the car in front.

that said for future reference it is correct to indicate you're pulling over and only use the hazards if you are causing and significant obstruction (which you shouldn't do anyway) leave the indicator on while stopped to let other people know you're not going anywhere if you don't think it will be obvious

When it comes to hazard lights my biggest pet hate is when people tow a broken down car with the hazard lights on, so if following you have no idea of intention because they can't indicate. they generally never have an On Tow sign though so if its a van or something you just think they are driving along with their hazards on

Same here, hazards are just for emergency situations right?!

yep not allowed to use them for towing either unless on a motorway or unrestricted dual carriageway and you need to warn drivers behind you, even then you only put them on until the people behind notice and then turn them off, the tow car isnt allowed them at all.

Hazard warning lights. These may be used when your vehicle is stationary, to warn that it is temporarily obstructing traffic. Never use them as an excuse for dangerous or illegal parking. You MUST NOT use hazard warning lights while driving or being towed unless you are on a motorway or unrestricted dual carriageway and you need to warn drivers behind you of a hazard or obstruction ahead. Only use them for long enough to ensure that your warning has been observed.

its not just advice either its law

you still can't use them for the reason that you are towing

Which I normally do use my indicators....its not a exactly a costly mistake is it? Yes, not wise but every driver has their faults, heck even you and dave could have habits....but do I come on a forum and judge or throw highway code at you? Nope cause its unnecessary!

Wherever dave dislikes it or not, I don't care what he likes and doesn't like (not trying to be harsh) just saying. I hate taxi drivers there's certain things on the roads that grind my gears, but you two have just blown this out of proportion, was there any need for it? Not really. If you both want to carry it on feel free to :)

Laters.

As I said doesn't bother me you didn't put anyone at risk, the driver behind should have been paying a bit more attention to the road and not just staring at the back of your car, I'm pretty certain I've done similar in the past.

All I said was I hate when people tow with hazards on?

Exactly, no one was hurt im fine car is fine other driver is fine his car is fine....I really do not see the big deal here....yes hazards are for emergency only....I know this and don't expect to come on a forum and get told how to drive. Thats just as bad as a backseat driver!

I see hundreds of people doing far worse things on the roads! But ah well thats life and life goes on doesn't it? :)

It could of been worse if I didnt use any form of indication and expected driver behind to know. Least I gave him some form of warning. But everyone is just making a big fuss out of it.....
