Taking the Bravo down my back road, driving enthusiastically, looking like an idiot because the hazards keep coming on every time i brake hard :bang:
Got to the end of the back road and brakes had faded that much i had none left, had to stomp on the pedal as hard as i could to stop it going out the junction, :(
Still can't believe Fiat make a "sport" Bravo with 1.4 Mito brakes all round :shakehead:

If you are getting that much brake fade, you either need new parts or to adjust your driving style, remember dropping down a gear works just as well on a lot of bends as braking it helps reduce brake fade and leaves you in the power range to go again, if not double clutch back up a gear with a proper stomp / blip mid change

It's the only car i've ever had brake fade on, to give you an idea, if i did an emergency stop from 60 it wouldn't break after that, i don't work the brakes unless im flying in it, my Punto and work van both hit 40k on the original pads and discs.
Im thinking Coupe turbo brakes, scary to think it has the same size discs as a 1.4 punto and weighs 1650kg :(

Time to upgrade the discs and pads? Maybe check the callipers are working the pads evenly and not just on the outside or inside pads maybe?

I managed to bake my coupe brakes a few times

Did the Punto once or twice...did it with the Mother in the passenger seat once...approaching a roundabout

"Sean..."
"Yeah?"
"That's a roundabout...SLOW DOWN!!"
"Err...I'm trying"

Gears, prayers and blind luck that day!!
(Was trying to get my other half into Peterborough to catch a bus lol)

Once you have brake fade, you glaze everything up

so once you can - brake apart and remove the glaze

Fronts are much better then rear drums

drums often glaze over and require some elbow grease to sort FUN FUN

Had it when i went to an event
Car loaded to eyeballs, braking was fine till i got the event, lots of speed bumps which i kept spanking between, when you realise hang on? my car aint stopping, i pooped myself a little

was same on the way back, i found the rate of retardation was huge! I was bottoming the pedal due to the extreme heat!

Even though I have a big, blue sticker in my car window -- with the disabled logo on it -- asking people to park considerately, some berk had parked just inches away from my driver's door, forcing me to get in through the passenger door (which is incredibly difficult and painful for me...). Just to make things even worse: when I went round to that side of the car, I discovered that someone had removed the cap on the rear wheel, and let the tyre down. Charming.

I am now absolutely knackered -- having re-inflated the tyre -- and in more pain than I've been in ages: so have had to stay at home, when I should have been out and about.... What a wonderful start to the Bank Holiday weekend....

The return of the overheating

Just when you thought it was all sorted, one night you go out take a drive stop for a few mins fan comes on temp tolls it way near hot point! :banghead:

I can see my weekend off being focused on getting the punto all happy, despite of many previous attempts guess I never did get all air out. The saying "its a pig of a job to do..." certainly takes it mark!:D

Ahhh the one of many joys of owning a Fiat? Yes it is but they great cars so I won't slate Fiat for their silly ways of building a car that has that many common faults than my damn pc!

That is all :)
