What's made you grumpy today?

Only just changed the speedo cable so I can get back in my own motor. Ok for a day, then it sounds iffy today - exhaust blowing. Look underneath to try and see where and spot a leaking brake line too, which runs under the fuel tank. Dropping that requires dropping the exhaust, which will probably fall apart going by how it sounds :bang:

change it to a braided flexi hose and run it inside the car then, broken one can be left where it is after

Wouldn't the insurance be really awkward about that, especially if I had some kind of braking-related accident?

Having a proper look tomorrow, it could be a case of attaching the flexi first and then attaching that end to the body, I'm not sure yet if it goes over the tank or just runs next to it (plus, tools and pipe in the garage already from another job). Ta anyway for the idea.

shouldn't do. loads of people do it, its a better quality of pipe, manufactures don't use them as they are too expensive compared to what they use,

Was about to set off out for the day, and just as i started up the car, i found out that my battery was dead

went to the garage, found a set of jump leads, but found that they were for 1500cc engines or below, all the cars outside the house were 1800's or bigger, so they wouldnt be suitable :bang:

then managed to get hold of a battery charger pack, connected it up to the battery and plugged it in and the pack registered no current, so wasnt charging the battery

I've got a battery charger in the garage but am still at work and won't be home until 5:30, I leave here at 5 though so could come and help out if need be? Text me and let me know as it's hard to hide FF while I'm working

decided to call the local garage and they said they had a vauxhall in for breaking so i could have the battery as a swap deal

so walking down there with the battery, doesnt look suspicious whats so ever...

Been told that my name is one that might be told to move departments. Although I hate working at Tesco, I love the petrol station. Get left alone to do what we need to and can have a laugh with most of the staff there.

Manager has told me that if I don't want to move departments, I can make it as hard as possible for them (she doesn't want me to leave). They have to give me 56 days notice to change my contract...28 days + a week for every year I've been there.

They can't make me work before 6am or after 10pm. And if they want to get me to work 6pm to 10pm Mon to Fri and I can't...they have to improve it.

Also managed to **** a manager off as well...put something on Facebook about its OK for them to hide in the store while we are getting the abuse...this manager said she has taken it really personally.

This is why you should never add work people to facebook. or add them but don't post about work

She was a OK person, always got on with her, always posting about work, my manager said as long as I don't name her or say Tesco she doesn't care.

Hopefully not too much longer there though!

All my local tesco staff are a dour bunch, I asked one in the petrol station how the weather had been, answer was "usual....next please" wasnt even anybody waiting to be served!

I like to think I'm better than that lol. Although some of the staff are like that lol.
