The UK benefits system - more trouble than it's worth!

Was getting housing benefit while we were both employed, told them I'd gone back to work and they wanted 5 weeks of wage slips (luckily by the time I got the letter back I'd been working 5 weeks!). Now that Carrie is back working again and they've been advised, somehow we owe them over £250! I'm pretty sure they've not given us that much in total so I gotta go through and work out how the hell they could possibly have overpaid us by that much!

Looks like i wont be getting my car back till tomorrow instead of today.

Bailed so much today on my bike, legs are bloody and smacked both of my knees in. Got some of it on video though, quite funny to watch.

bloody England flags,dont get me wrong we have one hanging out the house but none on the cars,thing is today i saw a five door car with two flags out of each rear window and two out of each front window,it also had England sun shades and some more car stickers
I mean isnt that a bit too far or is that just me

I'm more concerned about the number I've seen recently on the side of the road, clearly a hazard if that flies off while driving and stabs a pedestrian in the eye!

Benefit scrounger types who expect the state to pay for everything and shop staff to bow down to them when they've never done a days proper work in their sad, pathetic little lives Benefits need serious curtailment in this country and major 'help' and 'encouragement' to get the little ****s back into work.

Couldn't agree more Seems like a nice rant though... Only thing is there isn't any work out there, I have been jobless for 4 months (start work on Friday) But I get what you are saying, we are in too much financial debt and this isn't helping.

Thats all well and good when there are jobs out there.

I've recently been looking for new work and the amount of jobs out there in the north east in my trade is depressing, much less than 2-3yrs ago.

mums had a bad falling out with my brother and his partner and now we dont see there duaghter as much my niece mums grand daughter obviously

:yeahthat: We're not talking skilled people here. Let's face it though, any job's better than no job! Well actually no, sitting on your arse getting paid to enjoy the sun, your fags, beer, satellite telly, nice cars, branded sports clothing and foreign holidays is way better than a crappy job.

is it a private firm coz cant you just remove the clamp?

if putting leaflets under the wipers is technically illegal coz its tampering with the vehicle then surely wheel clamping is

or have i just got everything completely wrong

Yes, a private firm; one whose boss has just been prosecuted over illegal clamping practices elsewhere in Birmingham
Had I my tools in the boot (or either of the two friends I called were willing to bring some) I would have taken off the hub and slipped out of the chain...
I initially appealed to the 19year old over the amount of leeway he claimed to have given and the time he said he clamped the car - the minutes didn't add up when he showed me the video Then I argued a bit as he sat there grinning - let's just say Charlotte saved the day with her negotiating skills

Cops here can now fine you for swearing. Far out it's ridiculous, I mean I'd understand if the swearing were directed at them or whatnot but it covers pretty much all swearing. I really wouldn't have that much of a problem with it if it weren't going to be teenagers copping the heaviest handed fines.

And people wonder why teenagers hate cops.
