Bravo, Brava same thing :p *ducks*

Just tell them to feck off. Tell them if they come and take any off your stuff you'll be pursuing the matter criminally as legally it's theft. If you went to court and said "I moved in on day x and the debt is before then" they're going to laugh at the agency.

Makes me laugh how many of these cowboy collection people threaten taking your stuff

Only debt's where they can remove goods without a court order (from the top of my head) are council tax arrears, business rate arrears, court fines.

However they have to do a "levy of goods" which is basically a list and evaluation of worth at auction and give you a final deadline to pay.

My grump for today is Eon harrassing me AGAIN over an old debt from way before I moved in, anyone got any idea how I can get the debt collectors off my back? Keep telling them no such person lives here and they keep on instructing debt collectors to chase here. It's only a matter of time before the bailiffs come and it's nothing to do with me

I had this problem with British Gas when I first moved into my flat. They sent a debt recovery guy round several times, I kept telling him it was nothing to do with me - showed him my completion papers, passport, proof of who I was and when I moved in etc, he or other people kept comming back. I wrote to them informing them if they came to the address again looking for so and so and threatening to recover costs I'd see them in court for harassment and bullying. The area manager for the debt collection company came round and was half hour late for the agreed appointment, thankfully I had his mobile number so rang him - all sorted the next day.

I really really really want one of these

I know you're trying to help, just in a difficult mood after my 'discussion' with Eon. Any suggestions on how to get rid of them? :)

Threaten them with harrasment charges. Make sure you get the full name of any operative you speak to and warn them that they will be held personally resposible, not just the Company.

If it comes to it, you can count on much support here, I am sure we can find a few baseball bats as we march on Eon's headquarters.

Cheers

The roads are atrocious the the whole of the outskirts Thanet are shut or blocked by accidents, it was an absolute nightmare geting home
Its times like this though that you really see how good people are. Cars are obviously geting stuck everywhere and people from all walks of life get out and help.

You had one like that once, it had a broken glovebox, remember? :p
I'm grumpy because i think I'm in the process of being swindled out of over £200 with no legal recourse.

Blockage :)

Hmmmmmmm my evening didn't go much better but when I really really wanted to get home, both lanes were blocked all the way through the city centre by a rolling roadblock of two doddery drivers doing 20mph the whole way :( Dumped the date I was meant to have tomorrow night (tosspot).
