I've just had an email back from ABC design, about making some clear or lexus style rear lights for the Seicento.
No good, they need to sell at least 4000 units in 24 months to make it worthwhile, and they have had very little interest so its not feasible.
Ah ****** ;)

I'm thinking, anyone know of some other cars that have lights sort of the same shape i.e. Supra or new Seat Ibiza (as Donz has pointed out)
me thinks i'm gonna have to spend somemore money to get a Mag feature.

Do ABC have a website?

I'm sure that with the number of Punto/Sei/Cing owners who would love clear clusters they would easily sell 4000 units because hey'd be the only company in the UK to do them. Anyone who wanted some would have to buy from them.

yeah but they would have to sell 4000 sei lights alone, and i am pretty sure there aren't gonna be that many people wanting them

and if there was 3999 people driving around with clear lights you'd be dammned sure i wouldn't be number 4000....

I think Donz likes to stand out from the crowd.

Buy yourself a clown's outfit and a fright wig - it's cheaper :D

i love them, think they would look fantastic, but if 4000 other people had them , there would practically be more sei sportings with clear lights than sei sportings without them!

not necessarily!

How many Seicentos are sold in this country every year? Then add on how many have been sold since it first went on sale. Take off a few that have been crashed, etc and you'll soon find that there are far more than 4000 Seicentos kicking about the british isles!

I believe people with corsa's and the likes are now having the same quandry with regard to lexus style lights...they are now allegedly as common as muck. I don't agree. They may be very common within the modding game, but compare the number of corsas with lexus style rear lights to the number of corsas out there which are still standard....there's no comparison really. As much as I hate corsas, with the rear clusters changed properly it does improve the look of the car.

Any car which has changed its rear clusters will always look different to standard cars...its only when you're at a cruise or whatever that anyone else is likely to have the same ones you have.

I really don't understand why 4000 though...or why no-one has made anything like this for any Fiat!

I spose the amount of time in development, making a mould, ensuring an exact fit and then getting a patent for it they need to sell 4000 to make a profit.
Does'nt a patent cost approx £4000 alone???
