i know asdas vodka is alright, but my mate has started drinking asdas smart price lager (3%)

i thought it would be awful but it actually wasnt that bad, 88p for 4 cans and £2.70 for 12!

which is a lot cheaper than carling, fosters etc. only loosing 1%.

anyone lol?

I very rarely buy own brand stuff i always think it tastes different and dont like it.

im going to home bargains in town on friday night to see what i can find :D

loads of cheap stuff in there :p

if not, its mums martini on saturday night

88p for 4 cans £2.70 for a 12 pack of lager no wonder the country is down the swanny when lager is cheaper to buy than fizzy drinks

Alex-R your a Traitor to the Jordie race i always thought you lot got weaned on the hardcore Tyne water AKA Newcastle Brown Ale? :D

I hear by rename you Shandy boy ;)

haha lol i've never been one for brown ale, a lot of my mates drink it and end up fighting, hence the name 'fighting fluid' lol.

usually on carling/fosters or stella if im in the club

lol at shandy boy

i took my mate to the pub a few weeks back and he was pissed after 2 pints :ROFLMAO:

he's never gonna live it down. i call him shandy boy :p

I buy Tesco's own brand 'Red Bull' called 'Boost' 65p for a litre which will totally get you smashed off your face. Great for long journeys too, as I found out going to watford for my car to be tuned :).

tesco is kick  i used to hammer the stuff until it became an addicition and i got told off :( - cranberry one is nicest

i brought value lager, i hid it under the crisps at the checkout

i dont buy it no more, i cant stand the shame (n)

some people are more sensitive to branding that others. if you're brainwashed by branding you believe the premium brand you prefer is in some way superior to other brands, especially cheaper brands. that is what branding aims to achieve. some minds are easily led by branding, so much so that certain people will refuse to accept substitute products, for example people who cant eat a sandwish unless it has hellman's mayo, no other mayo is acceptable. the victims of branding usually insist that it is their own choice which makes them biased towards the product, a sign that the brainwashing has been performed using stealth marketing. it is very effective.

if you have the ability to resist branding and compare products only on the actual attributes of each product you often find that the budget "own brand" products are just as good, or in many cases better even in terms of taste, texture and quality, however once a mind has been branded it is often too late to rebrand it to accept a new favorite. you often find a pepsi drinker wont like coke, and vice versa, but most will be able to drink either if their favorite is not available. if the favorite was never again available it would usually remain the favorite for many years, even for life. that is the power of branding. even if you accept substitutes and go without the favorite your mind doesnt change, yes you will learn accept the taste, even like it, but your mind wont accept the brand as superior to your original favorite. its irrational, but uncontrollable, which is why companies take advantage of it.
